If you just want to know how far you are to the green easily this is it! I have tried Golf GPS apps on my phone and they were just too hard to see in the bright light and some offered more things than I wanted (such as keeping score).
This little golf buddy is super easy. The only thing you have to do (after charging it up) is choose the language. No downloading courses, it just connects to a satellite and knows which course you are on, and which hole. You can just look at it to see distance to pin (also distant to front and back of green) or you can push the button for it to tell you what hole you are on and the distance.
I just hook it on my belt facing up so I can look down and see it instantly.
I have played with people who have fancy golf GPS watches and they turned to me to ask how far they are instead of looking at their watch. Well worth every penny!Read full review

Accurate and easy to use

An amazing gps on the golf course. It tells you which hole is next as you approach the hole, not to mention distance to front, center or back depending on flag placement that day (you enter that before playing). I have the Golf Buddy 1 and it was great and easy to use. This one is even better and still easy to use and the instructions are a no brainer. Fits on the brim of your hat and even lets you know what hole you are playing as you get to the tee box automatically. Awesome.Read full review

Its more than par for the course

I like this product very much and it is easy to use. It was useable right out of the box but had a few options that did not appeal to me, such as a diagram of the green ??? Have not as yet used it in conjunction with the web site. I especially like the simplicity of the voice announcement of the distance to the center of the green. Fast simple accurate

Doesn't give exact distance to pin but close enough for an amateur. I use the front, back and middle distance and the pin placement to estimate the true distance. My buddy uses a laser and I am always very close. So easy to use he often asks me for the distance. Read full review

All you need

I also have a laser range finder. The Golf Buddy agrees with laser when I've compared them. It works great on foggy mornings when the laser is useless. My course has elevated greens and using both rangefinders helps when you can't tell a front pin from a back pin.Read full review

It is nice the new model voice can be changed to man or woman with different countries.

We looked at the more expensive watch models and they were very large and to me would be uncomfortable, since I do not wear a watch. The clip can be put on your belt or wear on your cap or just put in your pocket. The voice can be turned on or off, volume up or down. This model also measures how far you have hit the ball. I am not sure about the question above on the eye piece. It doesn't go along with this product.Read full review

Fairly accurate Rangefinder

Nice styling. Followed the directions, but couldn't change the time. Not a problem since I'm not using it as a watch. Bought the wristband since I'd rather look at the yardage then listen to the voice (which I muted). Wristband is really cheap looking. I hope it lasts. Was able to get in a round of golf in Indiana, in Dec. Golf Buddy worked to perfection. Was loud enough to be heard 8 ft. away. Very lite on hat and easy to use. Very happy with purchase.
