Works really well
I bought this as you can never get enough dirt out of the tank with water changes. It works really well. It is easy to put together with not too many parts. Make sure you out the correct tubes on the correct inlet and outlet and make sure you fill it full of water first so there are no air locks. It has just the right amount of suction.Read full review

The Dyson Hoover for aquarium substrate.
Performed far better than I expected. Its a little fiddly to set up and get going the first time its used but with a little care and patience is does a fantastic job of drawing in and filtering the sediment and waste that gets stuck in aquarium gravel.
Its not massively powerful but its strong enough to get a good job done and I was pleasantly surprised at just how much waste it draws in.
The filter chamber is a bit fiddly to open as another customer says, but I found that with dry hands and pushing the clips forward one at a time then carefully pulling the lid off by hooking a finger through the reservoir hole, it'll come off easily. Easily stored in the special aquarium water bucket and ready to use weekly before your water changes. Only criticism is it could be a tenner cheaper.Read full review

Worth the money
I've been looking for a decent gravel cleaner for a while having tried both a manual suction siphon type an one that attaches to an air filter - neither of which gave very good results. This on the other hand cleans the gravel brilliantly and showed me just how much debris had accumulated and settled under the gravel surface.
I found putting it together a little confusing and ended up looking at the picture on the box more than the instructions but it was easy enough once I got my head around it. The initial water suction took a little bit of jiggling but again that's probably just me not really knowing what I was doing. It's a bit noisy whilst the air is being removed from the chamber but virtually silent after this. Once it got going the suction was very good and I was amazed at just how much debris it picked up. Small pieces of gravel can travel up the tube but most of the time they stay in the bottom couple of inches of the tube and drop back into the aquarium floor when you move the tube to the next bit you want to clean.
The one thing I am finding difficult is opening the unit to clean it. You push the catches towards the right on each side and should then be able to lift the top off. It's hard to get any purchase on the top (especially if your hands are a bit damp) and when I did finally manage to get it to come off, the (not very pleasant) contents of the water chamber went all over me and the floor. Hopefully there's a simple technique to getting it off which I haven't yet mastered.
The unit can either be rested on a flat surface or hung (using the enclosed cradle) off of the aquarium's side. I removed all of the foliage and ornaments from my aquarium so that I could clean the gravel more methodically but you don't need to do this if you don't want to.
All in all I'm very pleased that I took the plunge and spent that little bit more money on the cleaner because already the water in my aquarium looks clearer and all being well, with regular use, will cut down on the need for so many water changes which tend to stress my fish out.
Would I recommend this product? Yes absolutely - it's exactly what I'd hoped it was going to be. One happy customer and lots of happier fish! Read full review

Absolute waste of money!
Suction was pretty non-existent rendering this useless. I actually purchased a £5 manual gooper and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to use and how effective it was with water change and general tank clean. I'd say save yourself some time and money by getting something cheaper. Read full review

If you can use a hose and bucket...
...you can use this. Not as easy to use as the Eheim one it replaced, will be a better cleaner to use in a sand bottom tank especially as other power cleaners including the more expensive Eheim offering grind the impeller shaft to breakage very quickly with regular use in a large tank. This is the only pre-filtering complete system I've seen available and it is certainly a more elegant solution than separate pumps and filter stack DIY cleaning setups.
Power cable could do with being double length for added safety distance from water and the unit could do with a power switch if a design revision could be considered, some of us have genuine need of such things and an extra £5 on the sale price would be justified in that case. Good bit of kit as is. Worth the £40 it cost at the time of this bit of blarb. Enjoy.Read full review

Excellent bit of kit A+
Excellent bit of kit, as said by others a bit difficult to get started but with patience it works really well once the air is expelled , I did add a piece of fine filter foam to really clean the water , it makes cleaning the tank really easy and quick.
Highly recommended.Read full review

Great aquarium cleaning device
Out of a lot of other products out there this one really does work. I use it on gravel in my aquarium and it works perfectly and filters all the waste without throwing it back into the tank. So glad I choose this one 🤩Read full review

The Eden electric aquarium vacuum cleaner.
It arrived within reasonable time, I have 3 small tanks and it cut my maintenance time down by an hour!
Really happy with it.
I actually added a folded piece of fine filter pad onto the end of the out flow pipe with an elastic band, this leaves the water really clear, whereas before because the canister sponge is corse it didn't trap fine particles and the tanks turned really cloudy.
I definitely chose the best out of all the different ones I watched on YouTube videos.
Overall I'm really happy with my new toy!Read full review
