Well this takes me back to when these machines used to true up your cassette tapes and you ended up with yards and yards to tape
Very pleased this hasn't happened with this fun well made quite durable carrying handle can take batteries it is very 70s reliable works after mains if needed and you can have the microphone as well a well-made cassette player which seems to be rather hard to get these days the sellar done a good job but for me it's a bit history that works very well 5-stars easyRead full review

You get what you pay for, and its good enough for me.

What you get is a very inexpensive recreation of an old fashioned mono desk cassette recorder. I have seen criticisms of the stiif buttons, which are true, but actually a lot of the original decks were just like that in the old days. I use the deck in a specialist way to load software tapes into my 1980s ZX Spectrum computers and it works fine. The only thing to be aware of is that it has a stereo headphone output not a mono "ear plug" output as machines in the old days had. So if using for an old computer as I am, you need to get a stereo to mono adapter plug. If you intend to listen to music the sound quality is poor, but again there were many machines much like this in the old days. It is ideal for my use, given many old decks have isssues and this is brand new.Read full review

Don't Buy This Product!

This cassette recorder has an awful quality of sound recording either from the internal microphone or an external source, in my case, an aux from my phone. Even on chrome tapes, this cassette deck produces a warped sound which constantly fluctuates between loud and distorted or too quiet to hear.

In addition the buttons are difficult to press down and if you don't press them exactly right, you'll hear a high pitched beeping on the tape youre trying to record.

In terms of playback, the speaker is best described as "tinny". No bass frequencies pass through and when they do theyre distorted and rumbly, blocking out all treble sounds.

In terms of packaging, the styrofoam surrounding the product looked "chewed" away. The Power supply was packaged in a box which hadn't even been properly closed and was covered in dirt of some sort, or possibly ink. The product was clearly not new.

Ontop of this, the product is in no way durable. The plastic casing is thin and flexible and has a poor colouring job in a silver paint to make it seem metal.

I really recommend you invest in a more expensive tape deck from a reputable brand such as sony.

Blast from the past.

I bought this primarily for my wife who has few cassettes but nowhere to play them and I have to say she was thrilled with it. I suppose your satisfaction level depends on your expectations, your never going to get hi-fi sound from a portable device, nevertheless the sound is perfectly in adequate and can be improved with headphones if you so desire. The controls are fine, they just need a firm press and the device is very retro to look at. All in all its a great buy at a very reasonable price.Read full review

Waste of money

Does not play tapes at the correct speed (too fast), external microphone port and internal microphone far too quiet so recordings are inaudible. Buttons are very stiff and not easy to depress.

Built like a tank though.Read full review

Lightweight, but won't work.

The control keys are too stiff to press down. The record key won't press down at all, so can't record. When I press play the tape is munched-up.
i'm not satisfied and want to return it. I can't take photos as I've lost my mobile.Read full review
