A must, for Fuji X. Brilliant little lens!

I love primes. Especially small, fast, unobtrusive primes. Lenses that just "feel" right. A focal length that can do so much, such as this, is a must in any photographer's bag. Or preferably just leave it mounted and forget you 'need' anything else. Focus ring is buttery smooth with just enough dampening. Aperture ring is positive, smooth, easy. The hood, while plastic, is fine and, the redesigned cap fits nicely without hassle. Lens barrel is of a reassuring heft and lovely finish. The glass... how can a lens this cheap be so good? It's sharp (!) quick, pretty much silent, and focus is nailed every time. Your habits may affect this bit but seriously, I can't imagine ever wanting to take this off! It's that good. No aberrations, lovely bokeh, gorgeous colour and for mono shooters just the right amount of contrast to satisfy. If you need one lens and one only, this is it. Compared to the old 1.4 this is quieter, quicker, just as sharp, smaller, less expensive, and for me anyway, it even looks better. The 1.4 focuses a little close though, but we don't buy these for close work. If you buy this lens you absolutely won't regret it. For ~£300.. definitely a no-brainer.
