Very good lens. Very sharp for a zoom lens.

Bought this for my Fuji XPro1. Works great withe camera. Images are sharper than expected for a zoom lens. Optical stabilization works very well.

Best kit lens ever.

This has to be the best kit lens I’ve ever owned. Sharp, quick focus. All around great lens. The weather sealing is a plus as well that pairs nicely with the weather sealing on the X-T2 or X-T3.

Well above Average for a "Kit Lens"

I got this as a first lens for my X-T20.. the typical kit lens for this camera is the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6.. not very fast.. and also I understand from other reviews that the 16-50 is plastic. This one of course gives you f/2.8 @ 18mm and it is pretty sharp and has nice color even wide open. It feels well made with its all-metal exterior. The downside is that this brings extra weight, which if you are looking for a lens to carry with you every day, is somewhat of a negative. I also would have liked a smaller minimum focus distance (it is around 30cm). But if these are acceptable to you, it really is a very nice lens that hits the sweet spot for speed vs weight vs zoom range...Read full review

XT18-55 is great! The 15-45 is junk!

I purchased my fuji xt20 with the 15-45 kit lens. At the time I knew nothing about the 15-45 or the 18-55 lenses. I learned very quickly the 15-45 is a cheap starter lens that isn't reliable. The XF18-55 is a different animal all together. The XF18-55 is a high quality, well built, professional grade lens that is more appropriate for the Fuji XT camera. If you are spending the money for a great camera get a great lens with it. The XF18-55 should be the first lens you get with your Fuji camera. Do not waste money on the cheap, low quality 15-45 lens! Spend a little more for the XF18-55. Read full review

Excellent small zoom

I was initially skeptical about this lens since it is frequently included as a kit lens but after reading several reviews I decided to give it a try. I've found the image quality excellent. The build quality is very good and the zoom is very smooth which is great for video. I use this with my X-Pro2 when I want to travel light and leave my collections of high quality prime lenses at home.Read full review

Excellent General-Purpose Lens

This Fujinon 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 lens is deserving of its fine reputation. Its versatile range is equivalent to 27-83mm on a full-size sensor, which is close enough to the 24-105mm f4 that has long been a favorite of mine on Canon bodies. The f2.8 aperture at the wide end of its range is a plus, while the f4.0 at the upper portion is still fast enough for my purposes. As for handling, this is a compact and light optic that makes it an ideal walk-around lens, with accurate and smooth aperture, focusing and zoom rings. It produces sharp images with accurate color rendition in the great majority of picture-taking situations, but I have experienced an inordinate level of flare whenever I shoot with a bright sun in the background, even with the hood attached. In summary, this is a lens that could easily be the one that a photographer keeps on his camera body the majority of the time.Read full review

Great Purchase

Item was just as described in a white box. I tested the lens on a Fuji X T20 and a Fuji X T10, worked beautifully on both cameras. Now I have one of these lenses for each camera.

Best "kit lens" on the market.

Best "kit lens" I've ever handled. Build quality and image quality are quite nice. It's a little more plastic-y feeling than other XF lenses but over all it's the best money to performance balance of the Fuji standard zooms. Unless you're a pro willing to shell out the big money for the constant f2.8 version, this lens is an excellent compromise. (I would argue image quality is similar, you just lose a couple stops of light on the zoom side.)

One thing to note, this lens probably won't be good for video. Even when stopped down to f4, when zooming you can see the brightness changing (as if the aperture were changing). For stills though, this is probably the best bang for your buck standard zoom in fujis line up.

A Great Fujifilm Lens

This is a great lens. It is well built, extremely sharp and has IS.

I have the Fujifilm 16-55/2.8 lens and compared the two. My results were quite surprising. The 18-55 is just as sharp while being slightly slower at f2.8-4, and it is so much more compact and has IS.

It's the best "kit lens" ever. I'm still keeping my 16-55 because I love the extra wide-angle views it provides but the 18-55/ 2.8-4 is amazing.

Just received it and look forward to using it.

I just received this product. It came in a timely fashion and is new. I anticipate using it. It will be the my first time using this type of lens.
