Unless the quality of the plastic is an improvement on the original then the quality is poor.
The plastic of the original one becomes brittle over time and fractures, due I suspect the effect of the sun and/or poor plastic formulation.
However the replacement works well and is easy to replace the faulty one. You can use the same screw holes.Read full review

Works Ok but...

Bought to replace an identical one about 3 years old which had stopped working probably due to ingress of water. So not sure about the weatherproofing. Also don't like the way to open it to replace the battery by inserting a screwdriver into a slot and twisting it. This damages the plastic casing over time. Fortunately the battery seems to last a long time, but the casing on the old one had broken off in this area, which may have allowed rain to enter. Room for improvement.Read full review

Bought to replace dircoloured one to go on new door. Pleased I don't have to buy complete new bell kit. Works fine. I agree with other reviews though about the poor plastic. I damaged plastic on initial opening to get the back off! Not a good start. Definitely needs better quality plastic or a better way to get the back off.Read full review

This is the third time I have bought this product (the first time with the bell set) and am pleased with its looks and performance. The only reason it loses a star is that it is not as long lived as I would have hoped (in my experience 3-4 years). Wireless Westminster Chimes - Fits my Friedland Chimer

This product is more costly than a new set of push bell and chimers. But its good quality and you take your chances with the less costly items. It is solidly made and easy to set up and to adhere and screw to a door lintel or post. The case is fairly weather-tight which is important since the less costly ones don't often say whether they are or they are not weatherproof.

My last bell push was identical to this one and it was on the house when I moved in nine years ago and has just failed this year. Not bad since we live on a hill exposed to high winds and storms etc.

I went for assurance of quality and of durability over price, and over an unavoidable risk of being sold a pup instead.Read full review

Ok, not perfect

I've had several of these pass through my hands and, while they are generally OK quality, I never feel the back opening works as well as it should. It seems hard to open the bell push without damaging the plastic clip for reclosing or is it just me?
Could also do with a stronger adhesive strip on the back. Read full review
