Good mower, makes a lovely job of cutting & collecting the grass even when slightly wet

Really good value, you would not know it is not new. Easy to use, fairly lightweight for it's size. My only gripe is that as the grass box gets fuller it starts to spray out grass cuttings. I will try to empty it when it half full & see if that makes a difference.Read full review

Flymo Ultraglide Duo Tech Hover Mower

This mower replaces another Flymo which I have had for many years. The plastic body seems to me to be the kind of plastic which becomes brittle and easily breakable. Time will tell. When pulling the mower backwards the front end rears up which is a bit annoying. There are levers at the top which have to be pulled against the top handle to keep the motor running. I find the skin on my hands constantly being pinched between the levers and handle as I am using it. One very good feature is the method of raising or reducing the cut which is done simply by a lever on the front of the mower instead of the use of spacers which had to be added or taken away. It is a very good apt title (Ultraglide) for an excellent machine.

Owned a 380 for about15yrs, this is a vast improvement in every way.
1.Setting depth of cut is very quick and easy using the lever instead of
having to change distance pieces.
2.Now that blade and fan are separate grass collecting is really efficient.
3.Cable is permanently attached to switch box.

Easy to set up and start

Straight out of the box, only thing to do is click into place the grass box handle, familiarise / read instructions, and away you go relatively easy to use see downside,
This mower is slightly bigger than previous Flymo 330, and does cut closer to fence edging, great having the facility to raise and lower with ease as I have recently re turfed.Really does collect the cut grass well
Downside
It is heavier especially when grass box getting towards full.

Great Mower with an Annoying Design Fault!

First of all I have to say that I found this mower for a really good price and the seller was excellent - no complaints at all with regard to the purchasing of the item.

I needed a new mower as my original Flymo gave up the ghost. I wanted something similar but more powerful and this fitted the bill. I couldn't wait to try it out and I have to say it cuts well, the way it is designed also means it really does cut close to the edges of the path, it is powerful, the collector has a larger capacity so I don't have to empty as often as with my previous one and the cable is just the right length.

But there is a but. The plastic lid that covers the basket collector is very badly designed. The mower is so powerful that the air pushes the plastic lid up and chucks the cut grass out which means you get grass rained on you constantly while mowing.

I have found a solution and that is to wear sun glasses while mowing and clothing that grass can't easily stick to.

Flymo really do need to solve this problem because other than this, it really is a very good mower!Read full review

Disapointed in comparison with previous Flymo

On receipt it looked good. When I first used it I found that due to its length and my uneven lawn surface it did not cut as well as my compact turbo 330, which it replaced.
The spring loaded handle, which snaps back down every time its released is really annoying.
The grass box, due to its design, has to be shaken 2 /3 times before all the cuttings come out, as opposed to the 330, which empties as soon as you turn it over.
The power lead is shorter than the 330, which means I have to use an extension lead, minor detail I know, but for the sake of 3 metres on the lead it would have been better.
I don't think the designer of this product has cut many lawns.
Note that places like B & Q are reducing price of this model, read what you will into that.Read full review
