Not exactly 'silver' grade

When it first arrived t looked great. Few scuffs but nothing too noticeable. What I hadn't noticed was the manufacturing fault in the handle storage. The upper handle had a bent end and the lower handle had a fault in the plastic moulding. The two combined mean the first time I tried to stow the handle the leverage nearly broke the lower handle assembly. I could not be bothered with the hassle of going through a returns process so instead made some fixes myself which work for as long as I remember when I stow the mower. Unrelated to this grade of mower, the whole power handle/lock system is a little flimsy so you need to get used to the power cutting out half a dozen times when mowing your lawn...or use a death grip for the duration. Just accept, if your going to get a decent reduction on your mower you have to accept it'll have some annoying defects 😊Read full review

Great mower for the price

This is my second of the same type - the previous one lasted 9 years but the starter motor died. Easy/lightweight feel to use and a nice short cut. I have a large and uneven lawn - this is so much easier to use than a petrol or non air cushion mower due to the unevenness of my lawn. I do have to empty it quite often but I’m using it for a much larger lawn than than it’s probably aimed at and I just view it as extra exercise! This baby cuts the grass, fills up the little basket, which you empty, and it fills it up again. As lawnmowers go (providing you don't want fancy stripes or a bowling green) it's a lawn mower. Suitable for small gardens. The bright orange cable makes it easy to see in the grass so you don't run over it. No-one told my wife that. I would recommend an RCD adaptor for the plug to go in. The Flymo for simple mowing

The Flymo easy glide is still the hover mower, the reason it only got 4 stars is because the lead is now permanately connected to the mower BUT doesn't have a storage position on the metal handle. Other versions I have seen have this facility, all I can do is wind the cable up and leave it in the grass bin. It doesn't always stay in when hanging it up in the shed! A good compromise between size & weight

Very cheaply made with the number if parts parried down to an absolute minimum but we'll engineered, so hard to justify the full retail price but definitely worth it at a second-hand discount. Blade is easy to replace if needed but does require either a special spanner or a very large one.Read full review

Not So Compact

Having had to purchase a replacement flymo for my original that i have had for well over twenty years I find like everything you buy nowadays they are not as compact or well made.

Having said that it does mow fine and is a lot quieter than my old one. (motor bearings shot). It does fold down but it does take up twice as much room as my old model.

It collects grass OK and moves over the grass with relative ease.

I would purchase again hopefully not for another twenty years.

All in all a nice machine. the only reason for 4 stars is that it is not a compact compact machine.Read full review

Good enough. Light. Easy.

Can't give a 5 star as it does blow grass everywhere so I need to sweep but I'd say its still well worth it as it's so easy to use including the weight being low.
It doesn't compact the grass so if it's long it needs emptied many times but it's so quick and easy to do so, if your bin is at hand, that's no bother.
Good for a small lawn - the cable is only 10M.
