Works Great On Glass Floodlight Lens

For the last 10 years the outside floodlight/spotlight bulbs (halogen) on my motion detectors began losing the outside lens. After years of simply replacing them at upwardly higher prices I did some research. Apparently, the cement that affixed the outside lens to the bulb would lose it's propeties and fail and it would just fall off... Strange after repeat occurences. Figured the bulbs still had a lot of life and I decided to try this Awesome product. Works Great. That is all I have to say about this product. It must have a multiple uses and is truly revolutionary. I Highly Recommend this product. I did follow the instructions to the exact in which I actually put the the bulb and the lens in oven to preheat it to 175 degrees farenheight. Very Satisfied with this product and I can only imagine the multitude of uses.Read full review

Not Fit for My Need

I purchased this product because it was called a "High Temperature Ceramic Adhesive". My intended purpose was to repair a crack in the ceramic liner of a Primo XL Ceramic Grill/Smoker which would be exposed to high temperature, so by the product description I believed this was the type of product I needed. The ceramic liner in the Primo is approximately one inch thick and I wanted to seal a crack, which was about 1/16" wide.

First, the consistency of this product is like water, so it is very free flowing, but I managed to get it in the cracked areas where I could hold the liner flat so the adhesive didn't run out. To keep the product from just going straight through the crack I taped the opposite side of the crack in the liner.

They say the product doesn't set quickly, which is an understatement, because after two hours the product was still in a liquid state and I couldn't tell it has set at all. The instructions suggest the object can be pre-heated, so I decided to give that a try. I lightly heated the surface and the product tends to gel, so with the use of a flexible blade I was able to pack the gel into and fill the crack completely. I gave the product 48 hours to cure and it seemed solid enough. I reset the liner and poured hot charcoal into the liner and almost immediately the product started to foam out of the crack and solidify into something more resembling a very porous chalk and it was just about that hard.

It is obvious that this product is totally unsuited for my purpose of bonding a ceramic grill liner. It appears that the product will not act as a filler to close a small gap between surfaces. Whether it is sufficient to join two very tight mating surfaces I don't know, but the setting time I experienced I find totally unacceptable. Maybe this product has other uses for which it is adequate, but if you need a repair similar to my need I would highly suggest you look elsewhere.

Perfect Product for the Correct Use

This is a great product. Easy to use, inexpensive product that works very well as it is intended to be used. It is not super glue. It is an excellent thread locker for high temperature applications. I wouldn't trust any other product. Easily removed as well. Thread locking strength similar to blue loctite, but at a small fraction of the price.Read full review

4 oz bottle of Rocksett

Rocksett is a great product...One issue with the packaging, it was open when I recieved it, not sealed, which means its been exposed to the air for however long. This stuff degrades, rather quickly, if not stored properly. Disappointed its not in a sealed container.Read full review

One Of A Kind Product

High temperature bonding, thread locker for red hot applications. High temperature performance like no other product. The "Helpful Tips" sheet at the Flexbar web site is recommended.

Works on a pizza stone.

I used this on a rectangular pizza stone. I use a pan on top of my stone so I wasn't worried about any toxic issues after gluing. I first tried gluing just one side and pressing it together, but the stone was too absorbent and wouldn't stick together. So the next time I applied the glue on the other side and they still wouldn't stick together. After both sides had absorbed the liquid and had a little time to set, the third time ended up being a charm. I used the stone last night to smoked a pizza at 650 degrees without any issues. Follow the directions and it works.

Follow the directions on the package. I used the "keep warm" setting on my toaster oven. I also used a digital temperature controller which brought the temperature swing down to 5 deg C. 15 minutes later I have a bond between copper conductor and alumina insulator that I can't pull apart by hand. Excellent adhesive.Read full review

Rock solid!

Rocksett is an excellent alternative to Loctite for specific applications, and does it perfectly. I highly recommend it for securing threads on items in areas where things get very hot.
