This Fitbit was new, ever used or refurbished but it lasted for only a couple of weeks before it failed to recharge. I would not recommend this product. This is my second Fitbit HR. I burnt my first one out and could not get it covered under warranty so I had to get another one. I really like the challenges you can do by using the app and that it also tracks my sleep. It really makes you realize how much you do not move enough when you track your steps. Band runs very small. I have a 5 inch wrist, and the small is tight.
