I have always found Fiskars products to be quality engineered pieces so had no hesitation in ordering the X-25 splitting axe. I was not disappointed. I had a large pile of hardwood oak and chestnut logs to split into smaller logs. quite literally the axe split the wood like hot knife through butter, perfectly weighted with ergonomically designed shaft for ease of use and comfort. after use the blade shows no signs of use and the axe could quite easily be repacked and sold as new again! pay a little bit more you wont be disappointed.....just a quality tool all-round.Read full review

Worth Every Penny

Fiskar's own write up seemed a bit OTT to me, but, since I have been impressed with other bits of gardening kit from this manufacturer, I decided to go ahead and buy the X25.
Without the info from Fiskar about how to select the right axe, I would have probably gone for a heavier head and a longer shaft, but this axe is absolutely ideal. Take a look on Fiskar's site for details
The shaft length initially seems to keep you a bit closer to the log than you may have been used to, but after a few swings, the memory of your old axe disappears and the delights of this one break through.

Best, most Versatile Fiskars I own

Large and 'wedgy' enough to split beefy/ knotty chunks, while just about feadible to use one handed for easy to split logs. Excellent build quality and lifetime handle warranty :)

Fiskers axe is a great piece of kit and l would recommend this product.

Perfectly weighted axe, well balanced. Does, exactly what its supposed to do and split wood cleanly. For me the smaller axe is the right size for my height. (5'8'') there is less pressure on my shoulders and legs and the downward stroke is more controlled. Great purchase.Read full review

Fiskars X25 Splitting Axe

Stunning axe. Incredible feel, shape, splitting ability. The length isn’t as long as some older style axes I have used and is MORE effective. The metal head is very well made and held beautifully in the polycarbonate handle which doesn’t seem to transmit unwelcome vibration. I am able to split logs over 30cm long and 50cm+ width. Does the job

I have used this a couple of times so far for splitting logs up to about 30cm in diameter. Most of the time it splits first go, but maybe that’s down to my technique!
The axe is really well made and I’m pleased I payed a bit more to get this rather than other cheaper axes. Would recommend.Read full review

With the right tools no job need be beyond you. . .

The first job I used it on was the splitting of my old chopping block which it did with amazing ease. Looking forward to splitting a few old logs whose grain structure had caused me to lay them aside.
