Bought as a Replacement
I needed to replace our old Sharp set top recorder and after some research, I bought this Finlux. Everyone said it was easy to set up but I did have an issue. We have a brand new HD t.v. and I had all the channels set up. Once the set top box was set up, I lost the 'outer' channels, say from channel 12 up to the higher numbers. The t.v only works on some stations if the box is on. I spoke to Finlux and they said not to use the aerial connector, only the HDMI connector and to use the set top box to access all channels which then means the t.v. doesn't work without the box being on. Apparently this then acts as an aerial booster. But this is not a system I like and confusion reigns when I want to do something on the t.v. that doesn work through the box, like volume control. I want my t.v. to work without the box being on so I have put the aerial connector back so I can use the t.v. without having to go through the box. It is a choice I suppose but I must admit I prefer two independent systems, not one integrated one. Otherwise the recording quality of the box is very good and I am happy with it.Read full review

Great price if you want cheap and cheerful but are not fussy on quality.
This model is a revamp of the old in-house PVR labeled LOGIK and is also manufactured under the BUSH name. It is easy to set up if you simply want a TV & PVR combo, but don't expect it to work well with complex systems, it is meant to be cheap and cheerful so don't expect Panasonic or Sony quality. After battling with it for several hours, I could not make the sound work from PVR to TV via the HDMI cable. The only way I could make it work was by using the SPFDF directly into my amplifier which then means sync. problems. So to some up, great price, but not for people who require quality and fine for those only want to watch as a background feature in their homes. As an after-thought, it took me 3 attempts at configuring before it recognised all the channels available.Read full review

An excellent recorder at a great price. It's responsive and precise in it's performance and does all the work for you. Having an hdmi connection means that it will easily hook up to a current tv It produces good sound and picture quality. Can recommend this.
