FILTER QUEEN’s ARE THE BEST VACUUM CLEANERS EVER BUILT!

I am beyond impressed w/the quality of this machine and the visible care that went into the overall refurb! This is my 3rd refurb-purchase and my MOST FAVORITE, thus far! Filter Queen’s are a true workhorse! These machines will literally last a lifetime! We bought our first of four machines, brand new, 20 years ago for close to $2k and it still runs like new! Worth every single penny! I personally like the older body styles of these machines, such as the brown, D33 that I own, along with this model 99 body style! I tell everyone I know about the reliability and durability of these machines at every chance I get!!! I brag about these machines all the time! Now, I am somewhat of a collector, but I use these machines regularly and have a FQ at-the-ready on every level of my home!!! Filter queen compared to others

A lot of people are going to be unhappy about this review here are the facts. I bought one of these for a vacuum for a little workshop type room, as soon as I opened the box it smelled so bad I couldn’t use it. I bought 2 others and found the same problems, so as far as a used unit, they can and probably will smell pretty bad. I cleaned all 3 and still have some smell from them. (They smell in general, I’m not talking about when I power them on, etc, I mean as they sit they have a general odor even after cleaning them thoroughly.)

Now beyond that, as far as FQ compared to rainbow vacuums, I like rainbow vacuums alot better, I have bought 2 of them used for 50$ each and they don’t have the smell issue. I have a 150 pound dog and when using the rainbow it definitely doesn’t leave the dog smell around. I have a d3 and se unit. The water change that everyone complains about is not a big deal. I dump the water down the toilet and give it a rinse of clean water in the sink and dump it again, takes about a minute to change the water- no big deal.

The rainbow doesn’t seem any noisier than the fq I think they are about the same.

Now to the FQ vs. the miele vacuums, canister and uprights: I own 2 Miele vacuums, bought them both new, the Miele vacuums are great, they work beautifully, now as far as they go, they are the quietest of the bunch, the bags seal up nice and are high quality.

But the upright miele does smell of dog after years of heavy use, and changing the hepa filter doesn’t fix it.

At the end of the day, I really like Rainbow vacuums, I change my water between every room and there is no smell. I am allergic to dust and mold and haven’t had a problem with either. Always remember to dump and rinse the bowl on them, and let the sit and airdry, never store the vacuum on it. I have never seen any mildew or mold, I have seen some rust occasionally as I do metal machining and bring in metal flakes at times on my clothes.

Other than that, I would buy A rainbow, rebuild it, and put it to use, you will thank you wallet later, as you won’t be changing expensive bags or filters. Oh and I don’t use the E series, I don’t have any experience with them, I think the filter is overkill, but maybe it’s great, I don’t know.

I like the D and Se units. The earlier ones are ok too.Read full review

It runs perfectly! We love it! Ours broke down after 15 years and we needed a better one. We are very happy with this one.

Awesome vacuum!

We have 5 large, long haired dogs and a cat so the hair was out of control! We tried a Lindhaus, which lasted about 5 months before it neede it's first repair...then inherited a vintage Rainbow and loved it! Sadly, it died. My husband had been wanting a Filter Queen for a number of years we just couldn't afford a brand new one, however; this one is almost mint and works great! The hurricane air motion really produces amazing suction and the hair is actually coming out of the carpet fibers. Love this machine!Read full review

This machine had a bad motor, was sending out sparks on both sides of the armature, so it was not repairable and the power head roller had a bad bearing that was causing it to bind up and not turn.>I replaced the motor with a new model motor and replaced the roller brush, belt, and dust seals with new ones and had remount the power head motor as the mounting on one end of motor was broken. This was redone with a solid fastening fitting.
After cleaning and replacing missing tools this is now a very fine Filter Queen, works perfectly. This Filter Queen will compare with a BRAND NEW one as you would have to look hard to tell it wasn't new. It is now a $2,000. to $3,500. dollar machine that I will sell for $375.00.

Filter Queen Majestic Triple Crown

This is the second FQ i have bought on eBay (the first was already old and lasted for at least 11 or 12 yearas. They are awesome vacs! We call ours R2D2 -- it really gets the fine dust.
