its a simple foam cover made from pipe lagging and uses plastic caps (spray can tops?) to hold it all together. As i said simple and easy to make if youve got the time, else buy one of these. How long they will last, I have no idea, but it will stop your outside tap freezing.Read full review

Saw this on a friend's tap and though I'd try one. Easy to fit on a standard tap. You will need 3 cable ties to fix it properly but string will do. You may struggle to get a snap on hose onto the end of the tap due to the snug fit but you can cut it down. Otherwise you can use it as normal. Read full review
