Fast & Furyish 5 - the movie.
My saw came a day late, either because of the Covid issue, or the courier slept in the first day it should have arrived ;) and when it turned up and upon assembling it, it was apparent it had been dropped as the table bed was dented and kinked. Fair play to the suppliers though as they said they'd either replace it, or send me a replacement bed. The latter was ordered to save me having to disassemble it, repackage it and assemble the new one all over again. The bed took a few days to arrive and I swapped it over today. No great shakes as there's only about 10 bolts to fit it on.
The rip fence was round the other way to the way it normally is, so that was swapped around.
The sliding mitre guide is a little bit loose in its channel for my liking and could me made to fit more snuggly. Literally 1mm is all it needs, but as it is there is a bit of play which means it could change the angle when the blade touches it, by 1/2 a degree. Fussy old me.
When the thing first starts, it does quite viciously but you get used to it. It's certainly not a slow-start motor for sure, but it's pretty powerfully for the wattage, plus it's quite quite too.
A couple of the bolt threads stripped too easily I found, so were replaced by my own better ones if they chewed up by me tightening things too much, plus I added my own washers to spread the load where I thought the bolts may damage the plastic, on the body of the saw for example. Being plastic bodied, means this saw is pretty light for me, so I can carry it around quite easily.
Once the blade angles were all set correctly (they'll most likely be out a touch when it arrives), it cuts nicely and with little vibration. One tip - set the saw blade so it's only about 1/2" above the wood you're cutting. Too much and you can get a lot more vibration and the wood "drifts" away from the fence and is a lot harder to push. Whether or not these saws are all like this I don't know, as this is my first small table saw purchase, or it could be specific to this particular blade (I've used £5k saws in the past so I'm not a total newbie).
Talking about the blade, it cut through 10ft lengths of 65mm thick softwood with no issues, and I even cut through a fishplate either side on one (old roofing rafters), just to check the blade could cope with metal as advertised (sometimes you just don't trust the blurb). This is the main reason I went for the Evolution saw, as I do use up old wood that may have screws or nails broken off inside.
So, in all, I've given it a 4 out of 5 stars as I'm pretty happy with it overall, bit there are just a couple of things that I'd personally change for the better. If you're after something that delivers absolute precision, time after time, then maybe you'll have to spend 2 or 3 times this saw's cost to get what you're after. For £150-ish, I feel it was good value for money and it saves me trying awkwardly to rip down lengths of wood with a normal hand-held circular saw! Read full review

Cheap and flimsy
I brought this saw just for ripping down lengths of wood and the odd sheet of ply. It was cheap ish. £145.00
I own a evolution cross mitre saw and think it is great, so with that I brought this saw :((( polar opposite!!! if I could mark it a zero I would. And I should send it back but I would have to pay double if not triple if I want a decent one. So put up and shut up. evolution should sell a upgrade for the top plate its flimsy pressed steel. The main part of the saw housing is plastic. The side extensions are a waste of time too, so didn't bother like wise with the stand

Quick view
I purchased this as an upgrade for myself as my old unit had become dangerous to use, upon arrival you can see that the item is well packed to reduce any damage in transit, the assembly instructions are somewhat vague but just by looking at the images anyone could assemble it.
Once set up the item is sturdy and looks very smart please note I would advise using a level or straight edge when bolting on the side skirts!
Only 3 little niggles I would have with this is there is a small amount of play in the mitre slide
The top dust extraction hose can get in the way when pushing longer lengths of timber therw the machine
And the on/off switch is a bit too tucked away for my liking.
Other than that this machine has preformed well so far but as with most tools time will tellRead full review

Largest Multitool
Love Evolution equipment, I have the miter saw and circular saw now I have the table saw and it just keeps getting better. The fact is being able to cut not just only wood but different types of material without having to change blades all the time if fantastic. I do a bit of welding so having the flexability to cut sheet metal after I have just cut some timer is brilliant. Low noise not much vibration time consuming to assemble but fun and easy, instructions were so simple and not a spare part left over x28 nuts bolts washer and spring washer fitted exactly as manual dictated.Read full review

Excellent unit
Of all the small table saws around for home and diy use, this is by far the best one for the money. Though it has a small footprint and table area, its very capable of taking on some serious projects. The rip guard is quite accurate and doesn't nmove too much, and the power it has is quite amazing. You can buy a top end multi purpose blade for this machine for around £55, but, it allows you to cut perspex and 3 mm steel sheet as well! Not many others in this price range can do that.Read full review

Good but not perfect.
Overall good saw. Blade guard is too fidly to use, can't fathom out how to use it properly. Guide or gate used to keep your cut straight is not stable enough and has to be monitored in case it moves. it needs a stronger clamp to hold it straight.Read full review

Better than expected
Used for cutting beech at 4.3m lengths. Guide looks flimsy but some how works well, cuts straight and true. For home projects and building its great. For professional cabinet makers maybe look elsewhere. All in all much better than I thought, for the price its a bargain.Read full review

Versatile saw
The evolution saw is very versatile and easy to use. The structure of the frame is solid and the working bed is a good size. Excellent value for any small work or jobs required in various materials.

Fantastic value for money
The table itself is great, Easy to assemble. Cuts very accurately. Quite light and easy to move around.
The stand is a permanent fixture and would be better if this could be removed for easier storage. Once assembled and the measuring scale is lined up i found out its 2mm out when the fence is reversed but that is a minor inconvenience.Read full review

The notable success is that Evolution have produced a multi material saw that copes with mild and stainless steel at a reasonable cost.
This saw is in the relatively cheap price bracket, and the manufacturer has been able to produce a product that works well with reasonable precision within the limitations of its necessarily light construction.
The notable success is that Evolution have been able to supply a multi material table saw that copes very well with mild and stainless steel when sensitively handled. With very careful assembly and a few small modifications thrown in, it feels as if it will give good service for many years.
