A robust punchbag

Fairly east to assemble, but be carefull not to crossthread the screws. I filled the base with five bags of sand (still in bags), which filled most of the space. The punchbag and base are stable in use, but the base does tend to move around the room if you are hitting it hard.Read full review

Poorly constructed

I was looking forward to using my free standing bag as my hanging bag had seen better days. However, had I known about its poor construction and limitations of use I wouldn't have purchased it..
1) The bag is attached to the large base by way of a number of bolts. The bolts go through pre-drilled holes and screw into nuts sunk into the base. Unfortunately some of these pre-drilled holes did not align with the nuts. I spent over an hour trying to align the bolts, and ended up stripping a couple of threads. The bolts don't appear to be of a hard enough construction and are easily stripped. I ended up having to enlarge the holes to align the bolts.
2) I've used a bag for many years, but at 12 stone and age 62, I'm not a big hitter. I initially filled the base with 60 kilos of sand. My hits lifted the base off the floor. Increased it to 80, then 100 kilos.. Not much difference. I plan to see if I can put in another 40 kilos. Trouble it it requires me removing those damn bolts, which is a very frustrating job. If, once its full and there isn't a big difference, it likely I'll have to get a traditional hanging bag.

In my view, unless you are just starting out and you are under 10 stone, and a very light hitter, this bag isn't for you.Read full review

Must buy for boxers

A fantastic 5 star product. It was s extremely cheap and excellent to use. It's best filled with sand. Very easy to build as well. I would definitely recommend.
