Effective waterproof layer
Applied to a concrete conservatory floor after taking up the existing tiles. Needed 10 litres for approx 16 sq. metres. The first 'mist' coat mixed with water made the brushes splay out immediately so this was difficult to apply. The two neat coats didn't affect the brushes in the same way. It's not like putting emulsion paint on, a bit slower to work in and smells of the bitumen until it goes off. However, well worth the effort as it makes an effective waterproof layer with little or no smell and we are very pleased with the result. It will now be covered with water based floor levelling compound.
We rang customer services (no. on the tin) early on and they were very helpful - so an added bonus.Read full review

Great product
I have used this product many times before and it gives long lasting reliable results! I find it easiest to use two brushes alternately one in cold water whilst the other applies product then swap over, this stops build up of tar clogging the brushes, great for tanking, damp proof membrane in floors, and below damp proof course after injection to stop wet from below affecting skirting boards after re-installing.Read full review

Good basic product
This is a cheaper version of hot tar bitumen. I use it as it is as waterproof and you can add water to it if it is too thick and it goes a long way, I use it around the skirting of our roof terrace. It usually goes brown first when applied and then dries black. You can't use it on the floor as it would come off when you walk on it.Read full review

Black Jack does the trick, brilliant.
Very satisfied with the good value and supply of this nasty, messy but vital product which did the trick to seal the rearmost area of a garage from dampness coming in at floor level from outside an external stone wall. The cured Black Jack was then tiled over. Read full review

Ideal
Used this for sicking down woodblock flooring - I'm not good with liquids so it was slightly messy but cleans up easily with white spirit. Woodblock now secured and looking good. Great product.

Brilliant
Give this a good stir and ensure you’ve got at least a good couple of hour dry weather, to give it time to dry off a little, so rain won’t wash it off. Put it on my decking joist tops as a second protector. Great product.Read full review
