after reading a few concerning reviews about these smoke alarms i decided to test them with a smoking piece of paper.i held the paper at around a foot away and it started beeping within around 3 seconds.very loud and very responsive.i have no concerns about these smoke alarms whatsoever and would defo buy again.these alarms have no flashing light so could possibly be slightly different to ones in other reviews.Read full review

This is not the Rolls Royce of smoke detectors but it meets BS requirements and functions perfectly well for very sensible money. The batteries that come with the product are OK but are nothing to get excited about, so I intend to replace mine after only a few months.Read full review
