I had two old laptops a Dell and an Acer and 1 appeared to develop a fault with its Wi-Fi and the other had problems connecting via wifi when I replaced my router.

This device connected both laptops to my router with no problems. Easy to install and a good price!

I wish I had seen this device before I spent ages trying to fault find and change settings etc..

Caused software problems

Bought to replace a wireless card in my PC upstairs, as soon as the software was loaded on win 10, started having page fault exceptions, took ages to clear the problem.
Tried it on my laptop which has at similar usb dongle (not same brand, but similar chipset - Realtek) which has always worked okay. Did the same thing, obviously a driver software issueRead full review

The drivers are automatically loaded so there's no need to use the enclosed installation CD.

Small and stable

This is a great little WiFi-dongle. It's super easy to install and stable as it could be.
I'm using it together with a Raspberry Pi in the dash of my car, and because of that, I needed a small but still heavy duty WiFi dongle to act as a portable router. Forget the installation disk, this is 'plug and play' on Windows 10. It's tiny, it's inexpensive but it works brilliantly - and I was not prepared for how fast the data transfer rate is compared to my old adapter. It was very simple to use. I just plugged it into my Raspberry Pi and the driver was already in the kernel. Configuration was as per the online guides, so the computer connected quickly to the network. Performance

Works very well with raspberry pi. Used in upstairs office, about 10 metres from Virgin hub and through one brick wall, one plasterboard wall and a wooden/plasterboard ceiling. Comparing the raspberry pi wifi analyser with my Moto G phone signal strength app (WiFi Analyzer), the dongle can see neighbours wifi signals in the range of -80 dBm, but not those of -90 dBm that the Moto G can pick up. Mini wifi dongle

Just a short review of this little dongle .
It is tiny and very much ideal for a laptop as it will not get knocked and damage any USB port unlike traditional large wifi dongles.
It's plug and play .
From opening the easy to access packet to getting on to the net took 60 seconds flat !
