Nice little run around, Great for short trips.

Only had 2 rides, about 50 miles mainly off road x railway tracks etc, but very impressed. Packaging was excellent although 1 screw was missing but I had a spare so didn't mind. Overall it goes together really easy. Folding is simple enough but I recommend you watch a YouTube vid on untangling a chain and have a small plastic bag and gloves for putting the chain on. Bike fits sideways across my Mondeo estate so was real happy with that. only thing to watch for is the brakes are wired opposite way round and I threw myself over the handlebars when I was testing them without the wife on the back.
We've had a tandem before but my wife hated when we set off or I changed gear as she lost her footing on the pedals, but with this bike the sets of pedal work independently so as I'm a 100 mile sportive cyclist and my wife is 100 meters then she can rest as much as she wants.
I'm very happy with is so far, its a bit slow with the 7 speed and small wheels but as a caravan site, shopper, small ride bike, I think it's an excellent buy. if I can get her used to riding with me I'll go for a full size touring tandem.
I'm 5'11" and wife is 5'4" and we both fit easy. Too early to say about the durability of the components or strength of the frame, but if anything goes wrong I'll report back here

Brilliant Tandem

This is the first tandem we have had and we are really pleased with it. It is very easy to assemble from out the box, an allen key is supplied, and you need a 9mm spanner to put the pedals on. Just a note on the pedals - the pair on one side have reverse threads, so you turn the shaft anticlockwise to tighten them.

To fold the tandem just take off the front chain, remove the rear handlebars, and swivel the front handlebars. The catches make this really simple and no tools are required to do this. The bike then fits in the back of our medium sized car.

Riding the tandem is easy, the gearing is quite low so it is suitable for people like us who want to go for a leisurely ride together.

We have a motorhome and have arranged for a bike rack to be fitted so we can take our tandem with us when we go away. It is a great little bike and we look forward to using it on our holidays as well as going for rides in our area.

Great bike fits in small car.

Our tandem now doesn't fit in our new small eco car, so I was tempted by this at its surprising price. We are delighted with it. It is better than I expected.
I am 5'10; my wife is 5'2" and it fits us both.
It's easy to unfold and fold, but you just need to take care mounting the chain or you can get in a mess.
Rides surprisingly well. Most of the time you don't notice the small wheels. It does tend to wander slightly more than my "normal" tandem and bike, but the light weight and the long leverage of the handlebars make it easy to haul about and keep control. It has a very long wheelbase, so no very tight turns, but my wife appreciates being further back as she can see round me, so gets a better view.
The two chainwheels have independent freewheel. This was unexpected -- and marvelous! Either person can stop pedalling to sort their feet out if required. At roundabouts where I'm trying to go, I no longer get resistance through the pedals if my wife wants to stop! It makes for easier starting; we can each position our feet as we like, and the stoker can power us away even if I miss getting my foot on the other pedal straight away. Also I don't get my leg banged by the pedal when my wife positions her feet, and I forgot to spread my feet wide enough. I wondered if there would be balance problems with us pedalling at different positions, but it is completely unnoticeable.
The gearing is a bit low. I'm waiting and seeing on that. If it annoys me enough I'll change the sprocket, but I suspect I'll just learn to live with it.
It's great to be back in the position where rides don't have to start from home!

What a great bike

We are new to riding a tandem ,we have ridden solo bikes often but we have bought this tandem as it will fit in our car folded or fits on our bike rack when we go away. When we tow our caravan there isn’t any over hang either side as the van is as wide,so overhaul this is one of our best buys ever and also we are getting terrific comments from family and friends who have seen it ,roll on our first trip awayRead full review

Great value tandem.

Great value for money, quick delivery. Needed adjustments to chain alignment and gear selection before using but nothing difficult, checked all nuts and bolts then did 15 miles on first trip. Once you get used to the handling of the small wheels and slow gearing it's great fun and can handle both smooth and gravel tracks with ease.
Very pleased all round.

Ecosmo tandem

Although we have not used it for long trips my wife and I are pleased with our folding tandem so far. We are used to a full size Dawes Double Edge with an aluminium frame with more gears than it is polite to mention so we have had to make some adjustments to our riding style as well as adjusting the saddles and handlebars to accommodate almost six foot of me and nearly five foot of her.

Folded it fits easily into the luggage area of our estate car but we have yet to try the reaction of coach drivers and railway staff though it may be a way around the ban on tandems on trains in our home area in Eastern England, though we might have to wrap it up to disguise what it is.

We are also pleased that we can fit full size pannier bags onto the carrier though we have asmaller set for trips into our city, Norwich.

A good entry into the world of tandem cycling especially since with this tandem it is possible for the person at the back 'the stoker' to take a rest from pedaling - useful if he or she is a child.

Great folding tandem to fit in your car or motorhome

The tandem rides and steers really well , the gearing may be a little low for experienced riders, and the feature that either can stop pedaling is different from standard tandems but worked OK for us. We have 25 plus years of Dawes Tandeming , It cannot replace a touring tandem but is great fun for the price and good valueRead full review

Great little bike

This is well made and is good for holidays were you want to go out together if one of you is a strong cyclists and the other is not
We got it for a adult and a 12 year old that doesn't like biking but using the tamdom they loved it
Only thing is you need a plastic bag for when you take the chain off to put it in

The article had not been put together previously as stated and it could not have been damaged in transit disappointment

The rota was bent the clamp screws were bent and unable to purchase spares this should have been stated in the advertisement. It was fortunate that a cyclist purchased it as it needed a lot of work to put it right Read full review
