good but could be better

it works ok as a wifi hotspot, sadly cause of the uk 4g networks being a total let down so dont expect miracle speeds of over 150mbps cause thats probably not gonna happen.

another thing to note is that the 5ghz speeds on this model are note quite slow for the 5ghz section, i mean 4.3MB are possible but for 8MB/s you would need the ee120vb as it has 877mbps
capablity.

over all these are good but for heavy use these wont fit the bill Especially for systems which require constant connection.

on the feature side of things these router are missing some great features for example , theres a lack of QOS configuration on these.

which i would think Qos would be good so you can prioritise traffic e.g streaming.

over than that the battery is ok but could be better, but does work for an ok amount of time.Read full review

Does everything you would expect but will not stream. I have tried in various places where my other similar my fi devices work well. Whilst traveling I need 3 devices on different networks to ensure I have the I player. This item is not up to the job.Read full review

Better than expected

I purchased this unit after reading many reviews, I was still using 'snail pace' standard land line internet with no more than 2.8 mbs download.
I placed a Three mobile PAYG sim in the unit after checking the area coverage, the results were first class, brilliant download speeds up to 40mbs depending on network use at the time.
I found that placing the unit in a window improved the signal, trial and error will find the best place,the wifi signal easily reaches in to neighbouring rooms.
I have since moved on to 4g broadband at home, I am keeping this little MiFi for travelling.

A great broadband back up

I am working from home for the foreseeable future and had a recent loss of home broadband for a few hours which did disrupt things. Mobile broadband is limited where I live but I do get a reasonable EE/PlusNet signal. So I bought this unlocked EE70 4G MiFi as a backup for my home broadband. Easy to fit a PlusNet SIM and it connected to mobile broadband quickly. The password for the MiFi was inside the cover on a label. I was able to connect my devices to it and being battery powered I can position it in a window where I get the best mobile broadband signal. Not sure of battery life but I can always plug it into a power pack. The broadband speed and download limit is not as great as my home broadband but that is down to my SIM and local mobile signal rather than the MiFi.Read full review
