Dyson DC40 Animal - Blue/Red - Upright Vacuum Cleaner

DC 40 light and manoeuvrable.

For a second hand product the DC 40 VACUUM ,about 8 years old , is working well, after a thorough cleaning of the filters, hose and brush head. The brush head is the most important part to clean and using information on the internet it is easy to do.
The only minor flaw is it is not sitting upright so one has to prop it up to use the long hose in the handle.
I have been using a DC 04 for the past 20 years and is model is lighter and more manoeuvrable.

Lower Power than previous model

We have had a Dyson for many years but recently changed to a newer model. This newer version has lost a lot of suction power when compared to the last one. It takes a lot longer to hoover our carpet as it needs to go over the same area several times. I actually wish I had repaired the old one now. A Brilliant Buy

I have 5 cats that are in and out of the house all day. it wasn't until I got this vacuum cleaner that I found out exactly how much hair and dirt gets left on the floor, It really surprised me. My other vacuum cleaner didn't have anywhere near the suction this has and so my carpets never really looked clean. Bought on the Which recommendation to replace an excellent Dyson dc.24 which I was presenting to another family member .

Dc40 compared to my old dc14

It is noisier it doesn't reach all my thirteen stairs has shorter lead and the materials are a lot lighter or thinner. Overall my dc14 animal is a lot better lasted 10 years and still going as spare.

Disappointing Dyson dc40

Very disappointing vacuum clean. Feels cheap and plasticky. Don’t like the roller ball makes if feel heavy and awkward. Filters regularly block and you’re forever taking the rudy thing apart to clean. Glad I never bought it new as too expensive for what it does.Read full review
