Draper Tools 22231 EOBD Memory Saver

Great tool for your garage

If you are changing a battery on a modern car, this is the product for you use. Forget crocodile clips (they are dangerous), Connect the Draper's leads to a spare 12 volt battery then plug the Draper's plug into your cars EODB2 socket. After checking the connection is live and all interior lights etc are off also leave the drivers door open. Just disconnect the old battery and hookup the new one. Make sure the positive terminal is insulated during the process with a plastic bag or something. As the job will take about twice the time you thought it would, you can even stop for a cuppa.
I bought this to use on a 12 plate VW Passat and it worked faultlessly. I didn't lose any settings and I have a tool for future use. Very pleased with the Draper Memory saver.Read full review

Just follow the instructions on the connection process to the car & slave battery ....... "To The Letter"...

I made a small addition to the battery clamp leads... I fixed them toa wooden dowel with tape so as they could not touch each other and short to each other.

One comment... if you are using a small slave battery run the wires out side the door and be careful not to cut the wires when closing the door (the door seal should protect it) and make sure all windows and lights are off... some new cars have a light delay this can punish a small battery and if you drop below 10V the memory saver does not work... and you can not see the LED,s from outside under the dash...
