Sometimes accurate

This is the third, and final device that I intend to purchase to give me some indication of the remaining gas left in the LPG tank. Every other purchase was a waste of money. When the tank was virtually empty the readings were 'mixed' and it gave a red (no gas) reading even when there was gas present. After filling it would still read red although I knew that there was gas in the tank. To obtain a green reading (gas) I needed to waggle the pen around until a green indicator showed which I feel should have been unnecessary. Okay, it could have been me not placing the pan in its ideal location and, after my previous experiences with in line gauges, magnetic strips and sonar bleeping things, I may have expected too much. Waste of money

Bought this as a way to keep a check on gas usage in motor home & to help stop running out. On FOUR known full bottles - 3X Calor light & 1X 13kg propane bottles it was showing them as empty. Followed instructions, tried holding it in different positions, moving up & down the bottles, etc., to no avail. Always showing red. Thought with a known brand you would get a quality product that works. It would seem not. Found some reviews on this via Google & many have the same problem. Difficult to be accurate

This is a very simmple item and should be very simple to use. Unfotunately it is very difficult to obtain the angle required for accuracy. When a positve reading was eventually found on a new and full tank the slightest movement woulld show the tank to be emptyRead full review

propane gas level

read a lot of negative reviews but for the price it was worth a punt, it gives an approximate level of gas in cylinder, it will not work on the centre weld as reviewers have said but if you get a green light just below the weld then there's gas, it also will not work on the curve at the bottom of the gas bottle but I think when its that low then your bottle is nearly empty anyway, it is important for the bottle to be clean and to use some sort of contact fluid, they suggest baby wipes.Read full review

An Aged camper

I wanted a gas checker that could easily detect the level of gas in a bottle.
This one works if held perpendicular to the bottle but if it is slightly out a wrong reading is obtained.
