lovely looking fire

I've had this fire before and I only just replaced the bulbs after six years but I think I over screwed one of the bulbs and couldn't get it out properly so that was the end of that! I was so pleased it was still available and it was cheaper than before! This fire is free standing so is easy to install I like the fact that you have the choice of either pebbles or coals, I usually swop to pebbles for summer. I don't actually use the fire for heat just for the wonderful visual effect so nice and cosy with the central heating but I've tried it and it's quite a powerful heat It only costs about 1p an hour for the visual effect I was told it would cost more if you use it for heat but being as I've never tried it I can't really say. The company that I purchased it from where very speedy it came from Ireland and I ordered it on Monday 19th December and it arrived on Wednesday 21st via Parcel Force! I installed it myself as Dimplex said I would just have to plug it in. Brilliant. I hope it lasts as long if not longer if I make sure I unscrew the bulbs correctly next time...! Read full review

Stunning vocal point

This fire makes a stunning vocal point. The glow from it using the coal pieces makes it look like a real fire. The surround is finished beautifully. Well worth the money. Intended to go flat against a wall, the appliance is sturdy and suitably designed for stability. The lead of the mains is ideal for me as it's long enough but not excessive. Set up was fuss free, there are very simple and clear instructions provided and as the unit comes in one piece it's literally unpack plug in switch on. The flames are gorgeous, the coals & pebbles included are nice quality, choosing to go for a large selection of pieces in various sizes as opposed to uniform size pebbles which can look cheap. It generates heat well and warms the room up nicely. As with any electric heater the heat soon disappears soon as it's switched off. Which is one drawback from gas fires. My advice for efficient energy consumption would be to switch on at maximum temperature then turn it down once it's warm enough. Lastly, the finish of the surround involves A LOT of mirrored surface so be prepared to keep wiping fingermarks off etc. All in all I give this fire 9/10 and definitely recommend it.Read full review

CLASSY LOOKING FIRE WORTH BUYING!

Wonderful fire...very classy looking and not the boxy usual freestanding ones you get looks inset. flames are very realistic and option of two coloured coals. Heater works great not that i need it but ideal if i do! Just wish plug was a little longer and had white lead as doesnt quite reach my socket without extension but hope to sort this Well worth the money!Read full review
