Daewoo SDA1551GE 2L Air Fryer

Life changing cooker couldn't imagine being without it

Air fryers are all rage now so I thought I'd find out what all the fuss about as I needed a new cooker to replace an old all-in-one compact convection, microwave and grill oven.

The Daewoo SDA1551GE 12L Digital Rotisserie Air Fryer Oven looked like a good replacement with its large 12 litre capacity and 3 shelves and all the reviews I read were positive.

For those not familiar with air fryers, it's basically an oven which uses hot air to cook basically anything you can cook in an oven or a frying pan in much less time. They're also a lot healthier as you don't need to add oil and they can reduce fat content by up to 80%.

The SDA1551GE is fairly compact about half the width of a combi-microwave and just a bit taller. It's very well made and comes with 3 removable wire mesh stainless steel trays, a rotating rotisserie cage (for cooking things like chicken) and a meat/vegetable skewer with adjustable blades that also rotates.

What I absolutely love about this cooker is not only does it cook nearly anything in 30% less time than it takes in a normal oven, but the food is cooked evenly on all sides - even if you only use the trays. I could never get chips and french fries to cook properly in my old oven, but in the air fryer they come out like from a cafe or restaurant, golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Bacon comes out nice and crispy too.

Cleaning is super easy. There is a non-stick drip tray at the bottom but surprisingly hardly any fat comes out of the food and so its very easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. The mesh trays are also very easy to clean with hardly any residue on them, just soak in warm soapy water and rinse!

The oven itself isn't very noisy you can hear the fan when its running and it's slightly less noise than my convection oven. What I like about this too is that there is no annoying loud repetitive beeping when food is done it just beeps once.

The digital control panel on the front is nice and clear and super easy to use. There's a selection of icons for common things to cook which automatically sets the right temperature and cooking time. For example fries/chips cook at 200 degrees and take just 15 minutes. You can also adjust the temperature and cooking time to whatever you like for different foods.

This cooker has been a real life changer for me, not only does it cook everything to perfection, but it also saves me a lot of time and electricity because it cooks so much quicker than my normal oven.

For £99 (or £89 on eBay with the 10% discount) you cannot go wrong with this cooker.

Great but becareful…….

Great compact item but rotisserie is a little fiddly and depending on what you are cooking on it.
Tried a Duck today but it meant l had to keep eating tray 5 or 6 time .

Best Air fry oven
