Dewalt green laser
I did a lot of research before I purchased this unit. I do not make spontaneous purchases this expensive. I am over pleased with its performance. I used this outside to square and layout sonotube piers for a deck. Even on a bright day I could see the line at 20 feet. Not bright but it was there. It would not show if in direct sunlight.
In doors it's great and a dark room it's fantastic.
Get the green line only. Red is not the same
The rechargeable pack makes it worth it. You would blow through a lot of AA if you don't have this feature
The case and clips are great and the magnet is very strong. To strong.
The draw back is there no fine tune of the height. If you try to hit a specific spot on the wall or floor the magnet is so strong you have a difficult time adjusting it up and down small amounts. When you try to slide it the magnets hold fast and you move it to much.
A simple fix would be to have a screw knob adjustment so that if you get the line close with the magnet you could turn a knob and fine tune it to hit your mark.

The best, except......
I am a builder and use it to set windows, if there are many in a row, cabinets, even plugs for counter tops, etc. Drop ceilings is another good use and to locate can lights. This is my second one, and that is the one thing I'll say bad. The last one's light went out after 2 years, still haven't got it fixed but it doesn't seem a durable as it it should be. I baby my lasers and don't use them often, so I was shocked when the light died so quickly. Still worth the money and is highly valued in my tool arsenal ! Read full review

If you work in construction then you know the value of this particular laser. Very sturdy so far
Got early which was great. Ran around house leveling things and testing with a 4 foot level. For a do-it-yourselfer I love it. First project was garage shelving. The most disappointing part; while my whole Saturday was spent building them, the markings with this level was literally just minutes of that whole time. Marked my lines, leveled the shelves, which usually took me a longer with levels and chalk tape.
Well one more disappointing part is the price. Pretty expensive.
Like that each plane is independent of each other. Can have one, two, or all three on/off. Don't have or used another laser level to test "light". For me the green looked bright and clear but can't really compare to same model with red to be honest. I may use outside for a pergola project so I have heard green is better, but time will tell how that works. It did come with glasses so hopefully for a home owner it will be sufficient.Read full review
