Replacement door knob

I needed a door knob in a door that had a door knob in it on a bathroom door for an RV. Since I could clamp onto the door, the installation kit made it easy to bore the proper sized hole for the new door knob. Read full review

poor shopping and packaging...used stuff in really bad shape

I ordered this Dewalt door lock installation set and the description says the bits were new, they are NOT! it did come with a used set of metal hole saws in really bad shape and some dust from whoever used it last! and no instructions
To add it was delivered to my neighbor two houses down who was nice enough to bring it to me!. this is poor on all fronts!!!

good jig

this jig is used. it came without the hole saws and mandrel. I have hole saws so i don't particularly missed them. the jig is accurate in all the settings the material although plastic is strong rigid and lightweight. you only need to snug it up to the door no overtightening necessary. i take time to lay out the positions of the holes and with a punch i punch the holes for the pilot bits, with a bit of patience i drill the holes making sure i clear the debris often. this jig is similar to the Lenox jig. i wish though there were replacement inserts for the jig just in case you need them. do not expect the jig to work magic aligning your holes perfectly square. aggressive usage may not be the best skill to work this jig ... For a $20 tool to install a couple locksets, it works fine.

For a $20 tool to install a couple locksets, it's fine. It's only real downside is that most hole saws have a couple pins that keep the saw from threading down tight on the arbor - the one in this kit doesn't have that, so the saw does thread down tight and can be difficult to remove (I put mine in a vice to hold it while I threaded it back off, I imagine a pair of vice grip locking pliers would work too). Not a big deal, once held tight it does come off easily enough, just be aware of it before starting your project..Read full review

So glad I chose this tool over others.

Really impressed with this Dewalt tool. I bought it based on recommendations and it really is better than the other brands. All the parts are quality and everything fits very nicely. Clever design. The clamp hold the jig firmly in place, no play. The cutting blades are sharp and last. Everything works well together. When finished the holesaws nest inside each other and can be held inside the jig with the clamp, very clever.

Big difference between the jigs offered for this kind of work. I would say go straight for the Dewalt and save the money you will spend later buying it after you buy another brand that doesn't do the job.
