Great product

When I first opened the tin I thought it looked a bit watery and thin but how looks can deceive! Great product with a good finish and great water repellent.I will be buying again and thoroughly recommend .

Good product let down by colour match.

Having used this product for a number of years,I know it performs very well.
You do however have to be careful when applying multiple coats on sawn panels etc.,not to let it dry too long before applying the next coat,or else the products "beads up" and will not soak in.Be warned.
My biggest problem with it is the colour matching between product in the tin and the Cuprinol colour chart. My neighbour and I agreed on the colour "Golden Oak" to paint a shared panelled fence on both sides..I purchase a large tin of the product and on opening was surprised at how "orange" coloured the product was. I decided to do a test on a panel and used 2 coats .After drying completely over a few days,we both decided it did not replicate a Golden Oak colour and was far too orange.
After contacting customer services with batch number and pics,I was told that as far as they were concerned the colour was correct.
So,we now have one large tin of unusable paint and 2 rather disgruntled customers who will be very reluctant in future to recommend this product ,as regards to the accuracy of finished colour.Read full review

GOLDEN OAK CUPRINOL PRESERVER

THE above item works well on my Summerhouse as an undercoat or finish coat either way it does its job and soaks into the top layer of wood just to give it that extra protection, it is good to work with although if you are doing a large amount of painting i would recommend gloves and overalls as with it being watery can cause some splashes and you might not get the stains out. i would recommend this product at this colour and a reasonable price.Read full review

durable tough easy to apply

used a lot of paints and preservers, for all types of substrates ,this is one of the best of the modern types for wood around,a little more expensive than others, but lasts longer and is worth it in the long run,who really wants to paint 100metres of fence every year ,not with this one at least 5 to 7 years i have managed dependent on the sun exposure,and some cases even longer great product.Read full review

strange colour

for a stain, the colour is very strong and most of all very orange. it looks good from a distance but upfront you can't help but noticing how orange it is and not similar to golden oak at all. resolved to buy a different colour altogether. i highly recommend to get a sample first to check whether you like it or not.Read full review

Fantastic coverage

Very easy to apply, you need to be very careful as it is very thin so protect any paving before you start using it. Gave really good coverage and great protection, when dry it repels water fantastically. Golden Oak is quite orangy and looks great on a shed. May need to consider for bigger areas such as long fences as it may be too much. I would definitely buy Cuprinol Garden Wood Protector again.Read full review

Great timber treatment.

One has to be careful applying this product as it is quite 'thin' but as a result it penetrates the wood deeply giving great protection and long-lasting colour. Painting timber is not a very exciting job, so anything that saves having to re-do it too often, must be worth paying a little extra for!Read full review

Cuprinol red cedar wood preserver

I bought Cuprinol red cedar wood preserver as I have use this same product and colour before on my sheds only issue Thule company have changed the colour instead of being more red the colour is more rusty red now so I will have to do the whole shed now .
