Review of Creoseal Dark Brown 25Ltr
Consistencey is good and coverage on untreated wood is as expected.
Product advertised as Dark Brown and this is accurate. However, for some it may be just too dark... not for me though and i was well pleased with the product.
Some points to be aware of - be sure to wear gloves and a mask and safety glasses. The product is oil-based and tends to be a bit 'whiffy'. When it has fully dried, this will pass.Read full review

Messy product.
This product was sprayed onto decking and is very waterproof but it has not soaked in and has not dried out, leaving a thick film of oil behind which makes the decking unusable. A few days after applying creoseal we had torrential rain and the product splashed up off the decking onto a painted gate and fence
which now looks a mess. I used creocote on another part of the decking, which had soaked in and was dry enough to walk on after a few days but still repels water.Read full review

Advice
Recently purchased and applied to my fence.spreads really well but seems to leave a solid finish.
Last picture is pre creosote
Other pictures are of one coat of creosote.

the weather has been excellent so it should’ve dried quickly, massive drawback for the product
It covers very well indeed but the drying quality is appalling. Since putting it on our shed about a week and a half ago, in nice sunny weather it is still wet in places. Every time you open the door to the shed you get black hands, the weather has been excellent so it should’ve dried quickly, massive drawback for the product.Read full review

More like engine oil.
After shaking and turning the barrel to make sure it was well mixed, proceeded to paint the fence panels and posts around our Garden.
Five weeks later and it is still wet despite all of the hot weather which normally accelerates the drying time. Neighbour is convinced that the fence has been painted with engine oil and I tend to agree with him. I had to cut one of the new panels and there was no penetration by this product at all into the wood, so I would not recommend this product from this buyer.Read full review

Good for fences or sheds
This product looks like it has a tar based element in it when it goes on and takes a while to dry. The dark product is black in colour and will do the job in one coat. Apply with a brush as it will block any non industrial spray gun. Good value and worth looking at for sheds and fences. Delivery was within a week.Read full review

Good quality timber preserver.
Quick delivery. Very dense black colour. Used on wooden sleepers that form our garden terrace walls and feather edge garden fence panels. Sleepers now look like blocks of coal! Easy to apply by brush - soaks in easily. Could be because it is some years since their previous coat. Caution : 25litres is heavy, and protect skin and face from splashes when applying. Agitate or stir well before use to ensure colour is distributed evenly in tub.Read full review

A great product
For those of us that used to swear by creosote, this is a modern day replacement.
Penetrates the wood well, creating a deep all weather protection. I have used before and will continue to do so.
I have used this product with a sprayer but, in my experience, requires patience as nozzle blocks fairly regularly. A small inconvenience for a great lasting finish.Read full review

Excellent fence treatment.
Excellent product for my rough cut fence. Thick and oily and repels water. Much better than the water based stuff which is just water and colouring. Leaves a nice dark finish and brings out the grain in the wood. Does stay wet for quite a while but this is to be expected being oil based so you have been told. Spreads well and goes a long way but can be harmful to plants so don't use it near your prize bush.Read full review
