I don't know what my expectations were other than will it work OK with my and guest cell phones. It does. It took some faith in the instructions to blindly follow them not knowing what my intermediate and final expectations should be other than it works. Great garage addition

Overall very happy with Chamberlian smart garage device myq-g0301. I'm no longer worried if I forgot to close the garage when I'm down the road. I can now simply click on the myq app and check if I had left my garage open and if so have the app close my garage. Installation of the hub was fairly easy. Jumped on a ladder and screwed the mounting bracket to the recommended area in my garage ceiling as directed, connected power to the device, and downloaded/followed the programming instructions via the myq app. I have to say that the app instructions are very detailed with step by step instructions, pictures, and how to videos. However the first few minutes of programming, the hub would not connect to my wifi network even though I have a very strong network signal. At that moment I was thinking I might have a bad hub but when I reran through the app instructions again it suggested for me to reset the hub device. After following the reset instructions via the app, my hub immediately connected to my wifi network. I guess it just needed that reset boost. Once the hub was network connected, sync'd up the door sensor and off it went. Very cool. About the only thing that I would like to be able to do is have the ability to lower the "beeping" volume (yes, the device beeps loudly) everytime you open/close the garage via the myq app. However, my wife thinks it's a great feature as it let's everyone know the door is about to do something. I haven't yet played around with the app on alerts, schedules and adding the device to Alexa but I'm looking forward to what this device can do. I bought two units for my garage doors. The installation is simple to follow. Now I can control the doors on my phone. It also send me notices when the doors are opened or closed. Like this product.

Finicky setup, but works great

Getting it working was a chore, with the new app from Chamberlin took several tries until it finally worked, had to use my IPAD since my Android phone was having no part of it, funny after the IPAD was successful then the Android connected no problem.
