Good printer, great value...

My mother has a similar Canon mg series printer. The only difference between the two is my mother's is Wi-Fi capable, this one is not, and that's fine.... my Toshiba recognized it, and downloaded the software automatically, and it went right to work. Like many Canon series printers, it prints excellent text, no running of the ink. Pictures print up on Plain paper quite well, and can only imagine what it would do on actual photo paper. Overall, a good buy. 👍Read full review

Okay but a hassle

This printer- comes with a cd- and an online manual- which DOES NOT say it's only for a PC- so I wasted an hour or two trying to put it on my Mac (why not say it on the cd/dvd?) then the manual says for online download of the driver- you need to "download "on your pc"- which left me afraid it wouldn't work on my mac- and then afraid if it downloaded it- (who knows what trouble it could bring to my computer)?!!!!- since it only said "pc"....- Finally after a worrisome debate with myself- I took a chance and downloaded driver and it works on my mac (phew!) Apparently a reckless error on the manual's part.

Can't seem to get a million icons off my desktop after download- (they take up a lot of room)- And when I try to put "glossy paper"- it keeps saying it can't print it (and rejects it- have to press stop)- something about wrong mode- very vague- so I leave it at normal paper and it prints. I wanted to print some notecards- but you can't feed anything sideways- there is a very narrow paper margin and that is it, you cannot adjust it. (which left me having to try and fiddle with avery's notecards) and I finally gave up. (trying to move a text box on the avery doc- was ridiculously hard).

Add to the fact- the ink is almost more expensive than the printer- my other epson's which i loved- you could buy no name toner at 5$ a pop- but there is very little online inkr you can buy for this one (they probably designed it this way). We shall see how many notecards I can print for these 2 $40.00 cartridges.

oh and it said i had to print a test copy at the beginning to realign the print heads?!!! adn then scan it- but the thing wasn't clear on how to scan and didn't do it- so luckily it still worked without the scan (however this was another hour lost with fiddling).. with an unclear instruction.

apparently there is toll free tech support so hopefully this will make things a bit more worthwhile. I needed a printer fast for a project- which is why I disregarded the expensive ink- but if you had more time- you might want to shop around a bit. It did come very quickly and it was inexpensive- so I don't want to totally wring its neck.

I am grateful to this company for providing this so quickly and in great shape.- the printer requires patience if you're a non techie....

Won't Print 8X10 if you choose Glossy Paper? Feed Paper problems.

Easy to set up, Prints probably better than most Cheap Printers. (NO USB Cable or Ink.) Scanner is OK too. Has a problem with paper feeding more than one sheet at a time IF you don't 'shuffle' ALL the paper before loading. IF you choose 8X10 w/glossy paper it shows an error message and you must choose 'Plain Paper' and then it prints on Glossy----but just OK? NOT great. For $13 REFURBISHED you can't beat it. Longevity is probably 'IFFY' at best, Ink Cartridges hard to load without being a contortionist. Very cheaply made at this price, an Entry Level Printer for sure. Prints pretty fast.Read full review

Easy to Use

This All-in_One printer works great and is easy to set up. The only problem I encountered was installing the ink cartridges. The space were they go is small and if a person has large hands they would have trouble. As it was I have small hands and found the area difficult to navigate. Otherwise the printer has a great print quality and does the job I need it to do. Works well with Windows 10. A great buy. Read full review

Lightweight; easy to use

I had trouble setting it up because it was still sending prints to my old computer but once somebody showed me how to correct it, it's a great machine at a great price.

Canon Printer

This printer was very simple to hook up and set up on my computer. The quality of the print is good also. The ink cartridges could be a little cheaper, but they are affordable.

Did not buy cartridges so I didn't use. I had my old printer repaired.

The printer did not have the print cartridges included. They cost more than the printer itself.
I thought it was with 5 cartridges and not two. My previous canon printer had five and I had quite a few cartridges for that printer and that was the reason I purchased that printer.

This is my fourth canon printer. They are always reliable and good print quality.
This one was the cheapest, so I guess you get what you pay for!!

Works great

Works good. nly downside is this model ISN'T the wireless version, so it has to be directly plugged into the computer. And it also doesn't come with an important cord that you'll have to purchase separately if you don't have one from a previous printer laying around. And inexpensive purchase but still annoying.Read full review

Wonderful easy to use little printer

First of all, this review is for the canon mx490 printer, for some reason it has this model as my purchase -which is wrong. The canon mx490 printer is awesome, especially for the price, I paid $32.00 for it. (PLEASE NOTE: It does not come with ink!) The printer ink was $25.00 for one black and one color. It holds both cartridges at once. This printer is pretty small for what it does, it of course prints, it copies, it scans and faxes. It hooks up with USB or Wireless. The entire set up was really easy and quick. It comes with a software CD but you can also get the same online, so if you don't have a CD rom no problem. it prints good quality with tons of options including double side print, and a top load feeder. auto shut off also. compact design, I would recommend this printer!Read full review
