Oldie, but a GOODY!
The Canon 1Ds is about 15 years out of date, but it has all the buttons and dials a photographer needs. Canon builds the best digital cameras available, and this one is a durable workhorse! Only 11.1MP, but has a full-frame sensor, and with Canon's excellent line of "L" series lenses, images are SHARP and color rendering is impeccable! No, it isn't easy to use, but anyone going to a pro-level camera should already realize they will be learning a lot in order to use the camera's full potential. I've been shooting for 60+ years, and am still learning. Buy this if you want a rugged, highly sophisticated, heavy (with my EF 70-200mm 2.8L telephoto, it weighs about 8 pounds), easy-to-handle camera.Read full review

should be OK
Only 3 stars for now, because the 1 battery that came does not hold a charge, therefore, I need to order batteries. I expect this camera to do fine, even though it came out back in 2002. I could not afford it back then, so the price is right to try this full frame camera. The menu buttons are not dedicated to each function like the newer camera, so there is a bit learning, but it should not be too difficult. Each menu button is clearly marked with arrows showing you which buttons to push for each function. Looking forward to see what the pictures look like once my new battery arrivesRead full review
