Solid lens - nice and wide - nice and sharp!

I especially like the excellent edge to edge sharpness AND the focussing ring in manual mode has just enough resistance to stay in position and not drift off it's setting when removing your hand or adjusting zoom etc. Really pleased with this purchase!Read full review

Excellent value for money ultr-wide lens

Not the fastest lens but ideal for landscape and tripod work. Has a plastic mounting point, but seems pretty durable. I use of an cropped sensor mirrorless camera and the field of view is huge! Great for ultra-wide shot and interesting close-ups.

Good Value, Great for Video.

I got this primarily for video, capturing a wide shot of a wall in a room to teach Guitar. Does this very well.

18mm zoom is similar to the standard canon lens shipped with the 70D (which I use with this lens).

Vignetting not a major problem. Very Quiet for filming due to the STM. Good value for money compared to other lenses.

I would buy another if it broke (and they really do - broke the plastic mount on my 18-55mm and it only works intermittently) so if you exchange lenses often and travel about, be extra careful!Read full review

As a cheap wide angle zoom this takes some beating, I have two other wide angle zooms both costing a lot more than this one but I can see no advantage, the plastic mount may not be ideal but I have the same on two othe Canon lens and there has never been a problem, with image stablising as well this lens is a bargain.Read full review

Pleasantly Surprised.

I am pleasantly surprised at the results from this lightweight lens. I currently use a range of 'L' series glass so the change in weight is remarkable. I do a lot of video with my Canon 80D and this lens is so very versatile I wouldn't be without it - especially for interior shots.
I am now considering adding to my STM range with an 18-135mm as a direct result of my experience with this lens.
I would prefer metal fittings but hey....at this price I'm certainly not complaining and very impressed!Read full review

Excellent value for money

This Canon lens is sharp, light to use and carry around, and amazing value for money. Yes, it is plastic throughout but it feels solid and well made with a smooth zoom ring. Overall a bargain.
