Easy to handle and perfect for travel photography!

I shoot digital still shots and video with my DSLR and with video, I love the responsive and quiet follow-focus with the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. It is perfect for general shooting and, when you stop down accordingly for depth of field, really nice for portraits. The lens has a nice "film" effect, and is wonderful if , for instance, you don't want to lug around your Canon 85mm f1.2 L monster. This Canon 50mm f1.4 is perfect for travel photography. Damn sharp and great colors. Canon has always had great "normal" lenses, and I have owned the FD f1.2 version back in the days of film, and it had become my "go-to" lens. This Canon 50mm f1.4 feels like it will be my new "go-to" on my DSLR. I love it!Read full review
