Very nice pistol rest.

I have the Caldwell rifle rest and like it a lot, I got the pistol rest so I don't have to take my rifle rest apart to sight in a hand gun. The Pistolero works Great ! For the money this rest does a fantastic job and is very stable. It will shut your buddy's up when they blame the gun for there misses. Just used it to sight in a new Ruger American .45, shot 3 round , all 2" left of Bull. Made adjustment and shot the rest of the mag. in the bullseye !!! It is a ammo saver. Not very stable

Base is not very stable. Once you put your hand and gun over the rest, the base yields down a little bit.
Also after you set the high it changes after you tight the side screw.

Straight shooter

I've taken the rest to the range now four times, so I'm still assessing how it will best work for me. What's nice is the rest is light weight, easily fits in side a large range bag for transport, breaks down into four separate parts, and adjustments are easy. What I've noticed is there is a good amount of play between the threaded vertical elevation riser adjustment screw and the main housing making for a loose fit. The elevation adjustment nut works fine, but the position is actually secured by the threaded screw with nob on the left hand side. If you don't tighten the security screw enough, recoil may move the front elevation enough to require re-adjustment. While its light weight is one a benefit, it will seems move around due to recoil. IMO, the base (grey part in photo) should be made of slightly thicker material (which would add some nominal weight, and the mechanism for locking the elevation riser could be improved to be more stable. Pretty much what i expected.

All plastic but very functional. Not a vise....a rest. And a pretty good one for the money.
Lots of adjustability. Sturdy.
Adding a sand bag for weight is probably going to make it work better. Pretty light. Without some added weight, may move around with large caliber and hot loads.

Great for Zeroing in Sights

They went very cheap and thin on the plastic frame molding. Very unstable used as is. A peice of 2x4 underneath makes it stable enough to use.
