Great Product!!!

I think this is the best tool ever when it comes to laying bricks or blocks! Very easy to use with a professional look. I use my for building a cinder block four foot wall onto exiting brick wall. Made my job a lot easier, especially with leveling. Thanks so much!Read full review

Not a bricklayer?? You'll never building a wall

Why is this not METAL?? Scratches, bends, breaks if dropped of small wall, make it metal please....plastic is no good for this.. Good idea for making a perfect bed but come on their is no way any old Tom Dick or Harry can build a wall with this, with it being plastic it seems to bend & flex with the Suns heat mine was not straight had a right bend in it so the beds followed the bend in it.. Use less unless mega pressure was applied as for buttering joints lol that tool is way to hard to use & once again lots of pressure to stick the bed but falls off 70% of the time. With it being plastic it straches with the gobo. Only good for bog stranded brick too. Will only lay 1 way so in a corner you can't make the bed to the end as the trough gets in the way. Can't lay curves as its too long. Good idea but it's never going to make a unskilled DIYer build a wall bbq or extension. You'll end up with a leaning in even wall.Read full review

Ideal help for first time user.

Building an extension on the existing extension, but this time thought we might save some money by re-using the existing bricks and doing all the work myself!
So dug a hole, filled it, but then came the brickying bit and this is something I have not done before!
Looked online and this seemed like the best tool to buy. ...it is, and as you can see from the photo I am a few rows up now. I may not be fast but the finish looks good as though it has been done professionally, so I am happy to continue.
I did not get the 4 black aligning pegs in my kit and did not know about them until watching the dvd. They would have helped but usable without them.
Great kit for 1st time user, and even though I am trying to match the thickness of the cement to existing I have found this is possible too, making cement taller by more than the normal level, or slimming if needed too.
Brick line holders, and pointing tool really good ideas too.

Thanks.

Highly recommended

I researched this product thoroughly before deciding to buy it as there were quite a few negative views (mostly from professional bricklayers) coupled with many positive views (mostly from "amateur" bricklayers).
I have laid a few bricks over the years but would never consider myself a professional by any standard. The walls I built stayed up but didn't look particularly pretty (mostly garden walls)!
This Bricky Tool - in my opinion - is fantastic and is extraordinarily helpful in building consistent sized mortar beds.
It is still important to get the first bed laid perfectly level - which is not normally possible using the bricky tool - unless the foundations are absolutely level (which is rare), but after that it is a wheeze to use.
One professional remarked that he didn't feel the bed would adhere well to the brick as there was no initial "furrowing" in the bed. I did not find a problem with that at all. All my bricks laid using this tool have remained firmly bedded-in.
The perp jointer is a little fiddly to use but it is worth persevering with.
The tool hasn't speeded up my brick-laying skills but it definitely has improved the quality.
Highly recommended!

Probably not suitable for All Australian brick sizes.

It’s a great product but looks like isnas per the UK standards. I used it in Australia with a brick width of 90 and found it a bit difficult to use as it has been designed for a brick size of 110mm. Had to make my own minor adjustments by adding a couple of wooden pieces.Read full review

Takes practice

It's fine on straight walls but I struggled on a small 3x2M section.
I struggled in a tight area and working up to an existing wall.
I also struggled with two different sizes of brick.
After washing and cleaning it, when it dried it left cement residue in the hard to reach places.
Adjusting the kit is not the easiest item to use.
Having said all that, would I keep on using it to achieve a better job? YES.

Well worth buying

watch a blocking wall building you tube not trying to ell this but was using it. Looked brat bought one is great. As diy-er not that good at laying this tool was quick and saved me wasting masses of mortar. Thing to note is it comes with no instructions and apart to be the size of block or brick with 2 release clips on top and a release clip on the underside that goes un-noticed when you what to change sizing.
Wonderful, a bit pricy but still wonderful including the supplied trowel. Well done Bricky folk.

Huge amounts of cash to be made with this.

My 3 bedroomed 3storey house is nearly finished made with my own hands and this amazing tool. No bricklayer at £380 per day labour was ever needed. I must of saved between £35000 to £40000 by building this huge project with my own hands and this tool. Bricklayers are redundant as even a child. can lay bricks perfectly with this tool. It could be made a little stronger but with care it has opened my eyes to making a fortune laying bricks at week ends I earn £700 for 2 days work. The house will be up forsale soon making me a lot of cash. Then will build another next door on land I own. EASY WAY TO MAKE A LOT OF MONEY IS TO LAY BRICKS THIS WAY. Read full review

Quality built great value

I do a lot of D.I.Y. but not so good at bricklaying, this tool as made it neat and simple, and extremely stong joints. I am building a low wall for a conservatory but I made the gap for the French windows too tight, it was only built two days ago and I struggled to take down the short wall ready to rebuild. One review I read from a professional bricky said it would be weak because of the frogs in the bricks, but this method fills the frogs as in a traditional method ?Read full review
