Nice looking kettle, but has design flaw

This kettle is great apart from where the on/off switch is located. The switch is located at the top of the handle, immediately behind the open lid switch. I did not notice this when I was purchasing the kettle.....it is a very bad design because when you press the button to open the lid you also catch the on/off switch. Every other electric kettle has had the on/off switch located at the bottom, which is where I prefer it to be located. I have given only 3* because of this design flaw.............surely the on/off switch could have been located somewhere better.Read full review

Great eco friendly kettle

This is my second Breville kettle, the last one is still working after four years but has just started to leak a little bit hence the new one. Both seem to be made to a high standard of quility and construction. This new kettle looks great, boils quickly and the colour changing temperature idea is great, as it says in manual it takes as much energy to reboil the kettle as switching on a low wattage bulb for one hour. As I drink a lot of tea I get at least 2 cups without reboiling!!

Easy to pour and boils quickly

A good looking kettle that boils quickly. The only criticism is that the lid gets hot when the kettle has boiled and is stiff to lift when opening with the button.

Boils quickly and stays hot...nice looking, but the weakness is the material of the handle. It is far to brittle, so much so that mine arrived with the centre section broken into 2 big pieces and about 5 tiny pieces. No glue, not even araldite/superglue/gorilla glue works on it ! A genuinely well-designed appliance

I don't get excited about kettles. But this one is easy to fill, the lid is integral so doesn't get mislaid, you can easily see how much water is in it; it boils quickly and it shows when the water is still hot and doesn't need to be boiled again.

Omg, this is fantastic. Had come in the original box and I did think it would keep water hot but reading it again I was misunderstood. However I love how it changes from blue when cold slowly fading into purple and light red then dark red, it will remain red until cold enough to not burn you. This is fantastic.
