The tool for the knowlegible DIYer

Have used this item both in mechanical and building construction, never burnt out after 'hefty' masonry drillings.

It's Achilles heel is the keyless chuck, masonry drilling imposes a lot of torsional stress with the chuck's jaws, wearing away of the jaws grip i.e. as the wear increases so the holding of the smallest drill dia. is affected.

It's replacement is not 'encouraged' due to the cost of purchase price for chuck alone, being near to a purchase for a whole new drill. This is a pity, as two chucks would suit between the two processes.

My existing drill I hope to dismantle to obtain a convenient replacement for the worn out keyless chuck, it will be used on the more 'brutal' processes. Note...! always have sharp drill bits, otherwise you overload the drill unnecessarily!Read full review
