It'll do.
I'd love to say how amazing this mower is however, I was unable to put it together properly as one of the bolt holes either isn't big enough or is slightly in the wrong place. I figured it would be too much hassle (and expense?) to return it, bearing in mind that I might get another faulty one, so I'm keeping it. The handle works well enough for how much I'll use it and I can tape it one day. It cuts well too though doesn't like uneven ground. I'd still rather have this that have to faff around with the extension lead etc though. My old mower was far too big and heavy for the garden I have now and this Bosch mower is lightweight and so easy the carry to the grass.Read full review

Too light and flawed design
I was very disappointed with this mower and am looking to return it.
My lawn is very flat with no bumps and should be easy to mow.
1 The mower is too light and can be difficult to push. It lacks the weight of the older generation mowers.
2 Grass ejected towards the grass box tends collect at the front and on top of the front roller and cylinder cover.
4 Although the grass box is large it would only get filled by continually clearing the grass off the roller and cylinder cover
5 The cylinder blades do not rotate fast enough due to the small gear ratio between the cylinder spindle and the drive wheel.
5 The design of having a rear mounted grass box is fundamentally flawed for the reasons given above. A better commonly used design is the front mounted grass box
My view is that this mower is not fit for purpose.Read full review

compact manual lawnmower
I needed a lighter more compact lawnmower than my current one. I love using a manual one , with the soothing sound of the blades turning , especially in the summer months. This one is definitely compact and light. Easy to set up - instructions were a little sparse, but adequate. The rotating blade has to be adjusted so it doesn't rub against the fixed cutting edge. Initially it was doing this and therefore very noisy- once adjusted the rotating blade moved freely but I had to make further fine adjustments using the side turning knobs so that the grass was actually being cut.
Ive matted a few stripes on the lawn but its rainy so haven't used it much.
Overall, definitely lighter and more compact than my Webb, but I won't be getting rid of the Webb as it cuts beautifully. This Bosch model is going to be good for in between mows - less likely to put it off because it's light and easy to get out of the shed. Read full review

Best hand mower available
Having had expensive brill, grizzly and cheaper hand mowers this is the best and strongest. The blades are tougher than other makes and dont bend. Loved the look of the brill and grizzly but just dont last. Bosch bought qualcast and the origanal qualcast lasted forever. Also plastic hard box is better than a bag. Easy to use, strong, cuts perfectly and by far beats any petrol or electric model. Dont waste money on a cheaper option. It wont last and it wont cut so well. These are all metal and no plastic. Also the 38cm cut is better than the smaller models. Other models are not built to last and you wont be dissapointed with this bosch.Read full review

A great little workhorse.
It's much more robust than I envisaged so that's a bonus and it was very easy to assemble! The cut lawns look really good! I can't accept the credit for that because my wife is the gardener and the sole user of this great hand push lawn mower.
She is thrilled to bits with it and would certainly recommend it to anyone with a medium size lawn. It was certainly value for money.Read full review

Good buy!
I’ve had my eyes on a manual lawnmower for a while! It’s easy enough to put together from the box however I found it cuts much better without the grass catcher attached. It cuts the grass beautifully. I tried it on long AND wet grass today and it ploughed through it, I had to go over a few bits a few times but that was no problem. Quick delivery tooRead full review

Great value for money
Only have a small garden. So fed up having to buy bits for flymo so looked for something different. Hubby said was easy to put together. Have used it a few time easy to use. Grass is looking great much healthier than when cut with a flymo. Very happy with purchaseRead full review

Great little mower
This mower gives a good clean cut. Don't try to compare it to a cylinder mower where you just plug in and go. You have to make sure your lawn is free of any debris, otherwise the blade reel will trap. But if you take the time to tidy up your lawn, this mower will give you the best cut. It's very light to push and so convenient. No trailing wires, very little noise. I couldn't wait to use it, and can't wait for my lawn to grow quickly enough so I can use it again. These manual mowers were very commonly used when I was a child and they did a great job. People's lawns looked good off the back of simple technology. We then became obsessed with electric mowers or petrol, and manual mowers became a rarity. Going back to a manual mower does wonders for the environment and for your expenditure due to the savings made on electricity or petrol.Read full review

Good quality, lightweight so easy to handle, does the job well..
Good quality metal and plastic parts. Relatively easy to put together, although adjusting the height of the cutters took a little time to work out initially but no problem now I know how. Good size solid grass box easy to take on and off. Push handle sturdy and can be used by people of different heights. I have arthritis but managed to lift the mower up the six steps to the lawn with no difficulty. Marginally more expensive than some similar mowers but Bosch quality makes it worth it. I would recommend.Read full review

Hand mower Bosch 38G
Easy to assemble. Very easy to push. Not bulky. Good for elderly to use. Adjustable height and given that the cylinder cuts the faster You push it, is gentle on the grass. Got a lovely cut and had small lawn 7m x 5m done under 5 mins.
Easy to clean. Highly recommended. Read full review
