Yes, it costs more. Yes, it takes special blades and they cost more. Yes, it's the best multi tool I have yet to use. Have had many different brands over the years but I have to say hands down this Bosch is proving to blow them away every time I use it. Quick blade change feature seems strong and functions flawlessly. Extremely pleased with my purchase. Have ran Bosch 18v tools for the past 15 years and they have yet to disappoint.Quality, durability, and longevity of Bosch cordless tools and batteries always amazes me. Excellent Tool

Moving from a different platform to the Bosch 18v for my business, I added this tool to my collection, and I could not be happier. The StarLock system is for the most part easy to use. The only downside is when wearing gloves, opening the release level can be a bit cumbersome. Other than that, it is compact, sturdy and fits into that Bocsh 18v platform well.Read full review

I like this tool. It is easier on the ears than previous model. Works great.
Reason for only 4 stars is the availability locally ,or lack of, and cost of blades. If they were closer in cost to the usual blades it would be 5 stars easily. I think the premium price is a bit to much to justify for the average user. Maybe I'm just cheap.Read full review

High Quality but a bit Heavy

IT'S A LITTLE CHUNKY AND HEAVY FOR SMALL HANDS. I wish it took other regular blades and not just Starlock. But it's solid and strong, Also the Starlock system saves me a lot of time.
