I have a very outdated Black & Decker strimmer held together by duct tape and so I thought that this newer version spool would not fit or that the line would not do the job properly. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that both were excellent. The line lasts far longer than the old, possibly thinner type, and the spool fits like a glove. Good purchase

The B&D A6044 spool and line was required to replace the original of my GL110 strimmer. Surprisingly, the line fitted was 1.5mm instead of the original line size of 1.3mm. However, the new spool was a very difficult to fit due to the larger size of line which had not been wound evenly around the spool. I, therefore, rewound the spool evenly and all was well. The line is expected to last longer as it is thicker and is supposed to be more durable - time will tell. B&D Strimmer Spool & Line is Okay

The service when I bought this off eBay was excellent. It was reasonably priced and arrived quickly. Like the original piece it is a replacement for though, it is a sort of nylon type of plastic that gets beaten up and damaged very quickly unless you are only trimming perfect grass.
Our garden grass is tough and the ground isn't flat and of course we have paved edges, none of which are good for the strimmer.
Also the black holding piece soon becomes out of shape - pulled by the tug of the line as the motor whips it (the line) round at a very fast speed.
Overall though it does the job, though I expect to be buying another in the near future if we keep having the wet/dry weather that is growing the grass at an amazing rateRead full review
