Easy to apply
I tried this product for the first time in order to remove layers of masonry paint on some concrete window sills. I thought that it would be more appropriate than my usual choice of paint stripper, Nitromors, since I was dealing with a tough water based paint.
Application was easy although this product is more runny so care needs to be taken if you want to avoid drips. After about an hour the paint had softened enough for scraping although I needed a second coat to remove an appreciable amount. There was a bitumen based paint below the masonry paint & the Biostrip did little to shift that. I had to finish the job with an angle grinder fitted with a wire sanding disc.
Overall I would say that Biostrip is probably less effective than Nitromors although it is cheaper & certainly less corrosive. I would choose it for jobs on surfaces that would be more likely to be damaged by standard strippers such as furniture restoration jobs.Read full review

Not as good as acetone
I bought this to strip metal figures, I normally use acetone, it has some merits over acetone as it can remove some paint acetone doesn't, however for bulk and fiddly parts of stick with acetone as biostrip doesn't remove the surplus paint in the same way acetone does, also biostrip is slippery to use on fiddly small partsRead full review

Be patient..give it a chance to work!
After reading some negative reviews (not the coruscating ones on the makers own website) I thought that I had made a mistake buying this product, I must say that my doubts have been proven unfounded as the product was easy and clean in use compared to some noxious , vicious strippers. One MUST BE PATIENT ! I left my project ,a small chest of drawers 12 hours (I dabbed it more around halfway) and the paint just came off down to the wood on my scraper..then a bucket of soapy water and a scrubbing brush ..all done lovely!Read full review

Useless
This is the worst paint stripper I have ever used. Does not work well at all. I wanted to remove some gloss from tongue and groove in my narrowboat. Ended up with sandpaper and a days hard work. Avoid this. I applied 7 layers and still paint was left.Read full review

Easy to use
Whilst this product was easy to use I found it to be uneffective. It only removed the top surface of paint.

Works well on plastic
I bought this paint stripper to use on a car bumper that had peeling paint. After testing on a small area I was happy that the product wasn't going to damage the plastic in any way.
Other than needing to wait a lot longer the recommended time of 1 hour and needing to lay it on quite thick, it did the job very well. I found that several coats were needed to remove all of the paint effectively.
Hardly any fumes were given off by the paint stripper, in fact it smelled similar to marzipan which made it much more pleasant to work with compared to other stronger paint strippers.Read full review

Brilliant stuff
Used this on some models I needed to strip the paint off. They were painted with acrylic paint with a primer base colour and lacquer finished and it took it all off without reacting with the plastic. Not much of this needed using so it will definitely last a long time. It also smells like marzipan which is better then the normal toxic smell. Would definitely recommend.Read full review
