Better than I thought!

I have used a lot of Chainsaws over the years. This unit is Powerful & fast even with 24" hardwood. don't need to rev it too hard, plenty of torque. Started first Crack even when Hot! Auto decomp helps a lot! I am not a pro, just a landowner, so its hard to Justify what a Brand name saw costs! Time will tell on longevity but I am still using the last Chinese chainsaw I bought 10 years ago. Use good quality Fuel & oil.. So for the $ this is Way better than I thought!!Read full review

Decent clone saw

I'm not an arborist. I needed a big saw to break up a stump that was pulled out of the ground at my place. Buying this was cheaper than renting a big Stihl for a couple of days. Last time I hired a saw it was in need of a service and hard to start - what a ripoff!
This Baumr-AG is of decent quality for an occasional user like me. From new I put a stihl chain on it and a new sparkplug - my reading of the internets said these were useful upgrades. It works well, starts easily and I couldn't have gotten the job done without it.
Downsides -
1) the chain tightening screw is difficult to use. The saw needs cleaning often, else the chain tightening adjustment becomes unworkable.
2) claimed 6hp for the 82CC model doesn't feel like a lot of power. For example, it will get stuck in cuts relatively easily. This is probably because of the long bar - lots of surface area for the chain to get pinched.

I would buy again, but may consider the 92CC model if I could get it on special. Certainly better value for money than well known brands like Stihl or Husquarvarna.Read full review
