BT DECOR 2200 CORDED TELEPHONE - WHITE

I liked the appearance of this telephone and also the fact that it was not a miserable black - which most of the telephones seem to be nowaways. I found the screen very clear and easy to read. I found when on handsfree the sound was pleasantly loud and also when using the 'phone in the conventional way the sound was also pleasantly loud. The ringtone was really good - this was loud enough, but with a pleasant ringing tone - it did not make you want to jump out of your seat! One drawback however was the length of time allowed to key in and save numbers - you had to do this really quickly or the screen would go blank and you would have to start from scratch - very annoying. Perhaps BT could do something to lenghen this time say make it three or four times longer at least. Also when using handsfree, the recipient receives a very unpleasant ecco at their end of the call. I shall try this 'phone for a few months and if all goes well I shall buy another one for my bedroom.Read full review

A Little Disappointed

We had one of the 'old' BT email phones which had a great display panel being mains powered, and was of excellent quality. Sadly after many years it finally packed up and stopped registering calls. r>This new phone is for the hall and is mostly used after we have been out, for caller ID purposes as other non-corded phones throughout the house are mostly used for calls.
This 'new' phone, is only battery powered thus display is very dim and difficult to read in low light, also when on speaker phone the maximum volume is very low.
I bought this as I found it difficult to buy a good quality 'ordinary' phone as when I went up in price it also had other features, answerphone etc, which I already have in my home office.
For only £20 we get what we pay for, so overall quality is poor as is its performance. I would have happily paid a lot more for a better quality unit but could not buy a good quality ordinary corded phone. Read full review

the phone looks good and it is made well, easy to put in data but the one thing that is not so good is the volume of the ringtone .it is not loud enough and l have tried the 2 other ringtones that it has and still no joy. So if you are hard of hearing then this would not be loud enough for you.Read full review

I wanted a corded phone to replace an old wireless one. I picked this one because it is hands free. These days no matter who you phone you always seem to end up on hold and having hands free means I can keep working even when on hold. It has nice big buttons and it has a light that blinks when you have a message. There is also a button you can press that dials the message centre for you. It is larger than my old phone but will still sit on the shelf of my computer desk nicely and the angle lets you see the display easily. It is easy to programme as well if you want to use the memory to store numbers. All in all a nice phone and I am happy with the price as well.Read full review

I have had one of these phones before, but it ceased working at all in less than a year. Fortunately it was covered by guarantee and refunded. A friend of mine has had two for a few years,one problematic. and despite its problems we think it is a good and useful phone. Wish it came in other colours {I hate white plastic!], and wish it had a variable ring tone volume, and better housing for the handpiece [few phones do have the latter now].

Overall, a good phone

Phone was dispatched well packed and quickly.
Was easily set up, hands free works well, however, I thought that caller display would work automatically, as it did on my old phone, but on reading the instructions, found that you have to pay for this service through your phone line provider. Also, there is no way to increase the ringer volume, which isn't very loud.
