Well made and solid exactly as you would expect from Axminster Tools apart from some very minor machining mistakes (area of front cut out was a bit ragged) that make no difference to the way the plane works a great buy and one I would not hesitate to recommend. Solid and heavy with easy adjustment with an Iron that takes and holds a very sharp edge. Not a plane I use very often so I couldn't justify the cost of a Lie-Neilson or Clifton both super planes that cut wood (Just Like this one does!).Read full review

Good deal if you're ready to fettle it.

I've got a "factory seconds" one, so the price was good. But it required more fettling than I expected. Short nose pins were cut off, the front and back parts of the base for iron were not co-planar... It works, in the end, but I might've been better off buying new one without need to fettle.
