Difficult for me to use.

I bought this product byI have often heard that it would deter mosquitoes! I always use an after-shower bath oil, so e decided to give this a try. I don’t mind the fragrance, and the bath oil part seems to be okay. I greatly dislike the packaging! It doesn’t come with a top with a flow control. So you pour it in your hand and slather it on. Smells Great Moisturizer & Non-Toxic Bug Repellent

This stuff has many benefits to using it....makes your skin soft, smells great & keeps the bugs away without needing to use toxic chemicals. It is oil so it can get greasy if you do not use it sparingly. I have the spray bottle I reuse to put a mixture of water and oil in it to not be so greasy when you spray it on your clothes. Just need to shake it really good before each use. It doesn't last as long as a bug repellent if you do that. Otherwise putting it directly on your skin works the best. This is the original skin so soft that i used as a child. You don't need much to work. I have purchased others in the past that seem to be diluted and not smell the way I remember. Repels stinging mosquitoes

Why do I use this product as a bug repellant?The obvious is that bug spray manufacturer's formulas of bug spray are not required to disclose the ingredients, there is no transparency. Why would u want to put a pesticide on ur skin, the largest organ in ur body that absorbs? Skin So Soft has no pesticides and works very well as a repellant. It works well as a no-seeum, mosquito and gnat repellant. I also use it on my dogs tender underbellies, ears, muzzle and toes. For longer periods outside it does have to be applied more often. It is oily like baby oil. Despite the application downside, the upside is far better that any pesticide on my skin. I use it in the bath as well as a skin softener. Tried tested and true. I received the product within the time frame stated. The company did a great job wrapping and the price was affordable. Thank you.

Still beats all others

best emollient oil for my skin. Above all the brand names and overpriced creams, lotions and oils this one has stood the test of time for dry skin. And that's all I'm looking for.

Helped me with very itchy skin!

I was having trouble with itching skin that was about to drive me mad and kept me from getting a good night's sleep. I don't know what is causing this, but, three weeks in, I'm about to lose my mind.<br>
My fiance suggested I try Skin So Soft so I bought this bottle. She thought that it would give pretty instantaneous relief, and it did sooth some of the itching immediately, but it took another day before the itching really quieted down. For the last two nights, I've slept more soundly than I have since the itching started. The itching isn't completely gone, but it is MUCH moderated.

And while softening my skin was not the intent of this purchase, I have to say that almost immediately after applying the oil I could feel that my skin really was softer!

Advice: For anyone who, like myself, wants to apply the oil after a shower, I suggest leaving the bottle's seal intact and poking a small hole in it to hold back the flow of the oil. The fully open bottle makes it difficult to dispense just a small amount of oil into my palm for rubbing into my skin.Read full review

Love this product! Used to use this stuff all the time during the summer to fight off the Mosquitoes. I actually thought they had stopped making it, and because I live in a very small town, no one sells Avon products here. Found this on Ebay and was thrilled because 1. Avon has sold out of this online and they don't know when it will be back in stock. 2. I got it for a great price, and 3. For me, it repels mosquitoes.

I use Avon's Skin So Soft because, for me, it repels mosquitoes without using products with DEET. In case you don't know, DEET melts/damages some plastics. Like plastic encased radio equipment, for example.

I have taken the liberty to mix in about 1% tea tree oil with Skin So Soft. That seems to intensify its effectiveness somewhat. I get several hours of protection, then I put on a little more. For the most part, I only get mosquito bites where I had failed to apply Skin So Soft.

A large bottle of Skin So Soft lasts several years in this application, and which is the only reason I buy it and use it.

Great Bath Oil with Multiple Uses

Long time fan of Avon's Skin so Soft bath oil. To my amazement, it works really great on my dog's coat! For the last rinse of my dog's bath, add about a cap full of oil.
