Use with caution and read the specs before you buy

These SuperDrives are good quality products, without doubt, however you have to be aware that this drive will not work on all Macs. I bought one and it works well but be aware that this particular model requires a direct USB 3.0 port to supply enough power to the drive. it will not work with USB 1 or 2 and you will get an error message when you try to plug it in. In fact it will not even work with a USB 3.0 hub. It requires a dedicated USB 3.0 port on your computer. Read the specs before you buy and don't assume that it will work on your Mac.Read full review

Noisy little fellow... works well!

I just used the drive a hour ago. I transferred a series of files very quickly. Seems to work very well. BUT IT IS QUITE NOISEY. Maybe it's just supposed to be, being an external vs. internal device. Apple USB SuperDrive

I recently bought a 27" Imac, the new model do not have a builtin DVD drive like my old one. I bought this to make disc, use as a backup, etc. I like it a lot only thing is the USB cord is short.
