HI Res display and hub - great for the later laptops with only 2 ports
Hi Res LCD 2560x1440 Wide quad Hi Definition
With the additional interfaces at rear it can also be used as a hub with the
3 usb-a ports one thunderbolt2 port one ethernet port and one firewire800 port. It also has a magsafe1 charger for easier laptops and comes with an adaptor for the larger magsafe 2 connection.
If using with later usb-c/thunderbolt3 ports you will need an Apple adaptor. Does not work with similar looking mini display connectors which can send images to the display but do not receive data, which will not allow the display ports listed above to work. Fantastic screen for any Mac with Thunderbolt ports. Plus, it provides power that can be used to charge a MacBook (even one with USB-C port, with a suitable adaptor). Excellent display with integrated video camera, microphone, speakers and hub; removes desktop clutter and cables associated with separate devices.
Initial connection to mid 2012 MacBook Pro (OS 10.15.7) was unstable. Trouble shooting led to Mac PRAM reset and restart. All up and running within a few minutes.
