Only the Apple version of the USB-C to HDMI converter will allow me to have a second screen attached to my MacBook Pro. Non-Apple versions will cause the wireless mouse to lag. This is a known issue, so purchasing this Apple version solved the problem, and being second hand, it was half the price of a brand new item! Pricey but worth it

Does exactly what you need it to. Used it for over a week so far, mainly to hook up a second screen to my MacBook Pro and had no issues. It’s expensive if you pay full price so definitely shop around or get second hand, but I’d say it’s worth it for the quality and peace of mind. Read full review

Pricey but required for newer MacBooks

Many newer MacBooks only come with Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports, so this is often needed to connect to many USB devices etc. As always from Apple, pricey, but works flawlessly.
